What to do with vapor remains

Hey guys,

So all of you who vaporize know exactly what I'm talking about. You have a bag of brown, vaporized weed and each time you throw that bag out it hurts just a little bit. Anyways, what I have been doing is turing that stuff into black oil using iso. This black oil tastes like the vapor remains smell, but after 5 - 10 hoots your as high as you would be smoking the buds. So my question is, what do you guys use it for? Can anyone think of any better uses then this crappy black oil?

cook with it, I've had some really strong SSH mashed potatoes from vaped remains.

mix it in with asphalt to make pavement or roofing cement

Add it to your coffee; nobody will know the difference.

Mix it with toothpaste... nothing says happy like a green smile.

you could use it for butt chafing...

Ya that's the other thought I had in my head, cause I make killer cannabutter from the dried up leaves, but wouldn't the taste be too ruff to even swallow? Like I do my butter with an oz of kiff and leave it in the croc pot of 6 hours or so. I could try this with the remains and just like 3 or 4 oz (ya its been building up for a while) and see what comes out of it.

I just hate to waste weed, not a fan of black oil and I'm not a dealer so I won't pass anything off (I vaporize for medical reasons... just not legally).

Maybe I'll try making a lb of butter and see how it turns out, I imagine it will taste awfull but if you'd tried it and it does work then I guess it's worth a shot. Anyone else have any ideas?

Somehwere around ~200F. I use level 6 - 8 on the volcano depending on how wet the weed is.

how do you make the oil? I am groing a sativa plant and her leaves are staring to fall off her big fan leaves she coming to and end of flower I did trim a bunch of small buds off the top of her can I grind this shit up and kook it in some oil or butter?

Oil and butter are very different things. To make oil (the most popular and safest way...I think anyways) you need 99% isopropalene alcohol (you can find it at walmart or the super market, the ones in the poor ends of town won't stock 99% and don't try it with 70%. I actually asked the manager once why they never stock ISO (told him I am a computer reapir person with a lot of parts to repair) and he said because within 2 days of being on the shelf every single bottle is stolen, very rarely does someone actually pay for it. Also, never buy it from shoppers drug mart, they add a chemical that makes it so the THC won't disolve so it won't work.

Step 1: Soak freshly ground bud (or leaves) in a bowl of iso, fill the bowl so theres a little bit more iso than bud. Let them soak for ~30 minutes, stiring it every now and then.

Step 2: bowl a big pot of water, once boiling, reduce heat so its a very low bowling setting.

Step 3: Take you mix of ISO and weed and put it through a coffee filter, the result will be a green/yellowish liquid. Put this into a clean bowl and let the bowl float on top of the water

Step 4: Once all the ISO disolves you will be left with oil. You can use a straw or razor blade or whatever to scoop it out of the bowl.

The color is different depending on what you used. If you use pure fresh ground bud it will be insanly strong, and it looks like honey but is hard as a rock. If you use shake you'll end up with a darker colored honey, almost a redish color. This is called cherry oil. Anything made from scrape leaves or in my case vapor remains will end up looking black and liquidy, and its the lowest grade.

Those leaves will make black oil, similar to my vapor remains in strength etc. It will work, but I'd make bud butter out of them.

So basically make it into oil or butter and that's about it? Anyone had a 3rd idea to add?

whats the point of a vaporize if u need to do something wit hthe remains, isnt the point to get ALL the thc out and make it so itsu seless,if ur not doing that u wasted money on vaporizer, ur only wasting more weed...

You still get more bang for your buck (you utilize more thc than if you had burned the weed) and you don't inhale any smoke.

Very very true. You loose about 75% of the THC to burning, where as vaporizing you get something like 85% of the THC out of the plant, so its definatly worth it for the cash alone. And it will knock you on your ass. I won't even be able to feel a joint now that I've gone to vaporizing, its a whole new level. Those of you who havn't tried it should. And yes, it is much much better on the lungs as carcinagens are a bi product of smoke, not vapor. This thread is about how to extract that last 15% of THC.
