ok..so I get my cuttings in a couple of weeks (northern lights), all 16 of them.

I have a grow tent with a 600w cooltube inside.

like most people I am worried about the electricity.

what light can I get that is suitable for the 16 cuttings to go inside the tent and then switch on the 600w at a later stage?

i want maximum results as im only doing this for the weight as i am a non-smoker.

this is my first grow aswell.

cheers.

Hey dude,:-P
im a great fan of cfl's for the whole grow but they are exactly what you need to get them started anyway,

Now let me see if i can get this right ( coz i have just awoke and promptly burnt a N/L reefer ha ha ha):eyesmoke:

Ok, 2700k is the spectrum for flowering so dont get those, go for the 6400k which is the requirement during the vegetation phase.

Now then as for how to use them, many growers have adapted many different techniques with these bulbs but you can either get a huge one, or a lot of smaller ones or a mixture of both.

The technique i would recommend most though is to use as many small cfls as poss and get them as close to the plant as you can, unlike hps you can have the cfls within inches without worry, keep an eye on them though because you will need to adjust height at regular intervals.

You can also use the straight fluorescent bulbs again on the same afore mention spectrum's.

Good luck fellabongsmilie:peace:

I am growing in a simular way by the sound of your post i always grow the plants once rooted under a 250 hps light untill they get to about 1ft tall then i switch to a 600 hps for flowering cool tube. But i have never done 16 at most i grow in sets of 9 and that is realy pushing it for space the tent i'm useing is 4ft by 4ft 7ft height.Sometime's it is not wise to grow that many plants in such a small space you will prob not get has bigger yeild has you would if you just tamed the grow down a tad and did a few less plants. If i was gonna do 16 plant's then i would start flowering at around 6 ince tall this may sound small but by doing this it will give the plants far more light intencety than if you was to leave them abit longer in veg.Make sure that you keep the light has close to the top's has possible during the grow, this will give you closer interndes and inturn give you a far greater yeild. The worste thing a grower can do is let the plants get nodes that are too far apart the closer the nodes are the plants but will then close around each other giveing you dence buds instead of fluffy light buds that have no weight to them.I use 3 differant lights in total for rooting clone's 2 3ft flouresents daylight spec these have always done the job for me then a 250 like i said above the reason that i don't go straight to 600 is that i think a 250 enable's you to have the light that bit closer to the tops of the plants.then has soon has the plant's reach the desired height switch to the 600 for flowering. It will be in the first 2/3 wk of flowering when the plants will strech so i can't say enougth keep the 600 realy close during this time.I top them at the end of week one this helps in two ways it give's me two main coals but more important it gets any smaller plants up to the same height has i would not top any laggers, also gives the plant time to become more bushy...tyke................................
