What to expect?

I know it's late in the season but I just started my crop 4 days ago with 6 clones that are less than a foot tall. This is my first time growing ever! I was wondering how much time I have left before bloom and what I should expect to get from what I have? Also any suggestions on high yielding strains just in case I can find teenage clones or a mother plant? Thanks in advance!

Im in california im using 30 gallon pots, the strains im using are 3 Kc Dog, 2 Purple Train Wreck and 1 Black Domino. Somebody told me that I have 5 weeks left wasn't sure how true that was so I fIgured I would ask! For future reference when should I start my crop next year and what are some good strains that are high yielding?

it will prob take more than 5 weeks till this grow is done it could take twice that long.next year find out when the last freeze date is and plant your shit after that. as for best yielding strain you could get the highest yielding strain ever and not grow it right and get a bad yield i would focus on easy strains to grow i would recommend white widow its a good beginner strain that's easy to grow good to smoke and hard to kill and you can get a good yield off it.

Thanks to everyone for their reply! @superstonerdude thanks you gave me hope! Let me clarify my last reply, I was told there was 5 weeks left till bloom. So I hope there is more than that left of growing this season. I will keep the white widow in mind and also focus on the easy strains... thanks again!

Northern Cal? Southern? LOL....here's the thing: If your clones are rooted, they will start to flower pretty soon because they are already adult and because they can "feel" the light growing shorter and shorter every day. This triggers them to flower. You WILL get something to smoke. But your plants will not get much bigger than they are. In other words, they will start to put their energy into making buds, not into growth, because they "know" the days are getting shorter and it's time to flower.

If you grow outside, start your seeds any time in the Spring.

You will be lucky if you have two weeks of vegg left. Next year you can try the first of may but that is touchy. This year in So Cal we had a freeze in may that affected a few of our plants and some tried to flower but shortly went into revegg. With the hassel we had We will not go out until mid May to June first next year. Summer soltice is June 22 or there abouts, The longest day of the year. Daylight goes down 1 minute a day after that. I put some 6" clones outside on the 4th of July that are all ready 2.5 - 3ft tall in a months time, so if you put clones or pre started seedlings out June 1st you have plenty of vegg time in good weather and light, you can easily reach 6ft with the right size bucket and care. :bigjoint:

If they're not in the ground or even if they are I suppose you could bring in some artificial light to extend the daylight. Certainly just about anywhere in CA can be extended weatherwise. Not trying to get your hopes up just offering suggestions to sorta hybridize the affair. If you could extend the light for say a month it might make a world of difference. Of course the 1st world of difference is depending on the strain you might be harvesting in Nov.-Dec
