On my first grow myself, but I know that it strengthens the main stem so it can hold itself up under the weight of the buds. Got mine on a windowsill so I just use the wind for that

Ive never had fans noticeably strengthen. Even with several thousand cfm.
Wiggling and flexing is the only thing that really works
