It might be intended as satire…it might also reflect actuality.
I have little faith in MAGA-Xianity’s respect for individual conscience…they don’t do nuance except when it lets them/their idols get away with…anything. I grew up evangelical, I have family members who are currently crowing about the utter wreck Mump is making of governance - and government. They genuinely believe it is divinely ordained & approved & therefore double-plus good, the end. They’re not sorry, they want to push it as far as possible, judging by the cavalry-charge of clown-cars - each one packed with the sort of creepy ignorance that makes us rethink our life choices when we’re forced to confront it….
Families haven’t even *BEGUN* to fracture under the weight of the Chumpian onslaught…but mine won’t survive - 100% sure others won’t
