thanks just wasent sure if the cool tube would have a big enuff foot print tryin to save a lil money and the cool tube is cheaper any one else have anything to say

CFL side/bottom lighting? ive seen this done first hand and it worked well to suppliment. Good luck on the grow

...it's far better to have a larger fan that can be turned down with a speed controller to control your heat than it is to have either a cooltube OR an air-cooled hood.
...do some research, vertical growing is the next frontier.

...no need to apologize man, i have a VERY thick skin, ...and it's still not too late for you to save your money and buy a larger fan rather than limiting yourself to horizontal growing before you even look into vertical growing.

A cooled reflector is better than a cooltube. I have a cooltube gathering dust.
I have considered going vertical in my 3 x 3 tent, but it just won't work. My tent has to sit in a corner and I can only access the plants from two sides.
It would be really tight with a 600 watt too.
I really like vert, but it won't work in my space.

so i ended up buying this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/281027774186?var=580160169950 with the 6in econo tube reflector can one of you guys check it out and tell me if that reflector is okay like better than just a plain old cool tube

...i can link you to a grow i know where the guy is running 2 stacked 400s, barebulb style, in a 3 x 3 space, ...if you get the right fan/speed controller you can probably make it work bro, 1x 400 is nothing to deal with.

I have not used either of these products, but I like the design of a reflector better than a tube (for horizontal grow).
Reflectors performance depends on quality/design of metal reflecting insert, integrity of glass seal, air flow, etc. You should be fine.
Hook up a quality fan w/variac controller & best wishes !
