All the info about the bill is @ Wikipedia which recently closed his website for 24 ours along with supporters to protest against the bill

Here's the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Online_Piracy_Act

"Opponents state the legislation would enable law enforcement to remove an entire internet domain due to something posted on a single blog, arguing that an entire online community could be punished for the actions of a tiny minority. In a 1998 law, copyright owners are required to request the site to remove the infringing material within a certain amount of time. SOPA would bypass this "safe harbor" provision by placing the responsibility for detecting and policing infringement onto the site itself.

The bill would also criminalize the streaming of such content, with a maximum penalty of five years in prison."
I know this belongs to the support section but this the most visited of the forum and it concerns everyone here. So what would be the stand of RIU if SOPA bill becomes Law? what would it mean for this site?

that is a great question i am guessing that they would have to close down or give over all there users I.P. addresses
(only a guess as thats what happened with mega upload on the news today)

OR BOTH

Damn, that is a great point you make and I am very interested myself as to what would happen? Though the rules here clearly state that you should be a legal medical card holder. I am sure discussion of anything related to how street dealers operate (which is also against the rules here, but posts do get made about it or discussion do discuss this) or the how to buy international seeds would be highly frowned upon.

These days with the DEA and the federal government having a different opinion on medical cannabis usage from certain States it does bring up a good point!

I don't know...I don't think RIU would have to close down? But I can totally understand what your saying if they choose to do so.

In my opinion though, everyone and mean everyone I have spoke to have shared with me how unconstitutional they feel about this SOPA bill. The very fact such a thing is on the table is outrageous and Obama's Administration is not impressing me with the idea of even making this a reality!

^ yeah SOPA was knocked down. Boy I tell you though the fact they even gave this a thought is scarry as an American. If that shit had passed I think that would have been the turning point here in the states. You would start to see some seriously large uprissings against our Government. Which we need to do anyhow. We need to take our country back!!!
