Civilians become quite murderous to each other in war time. Snitching, collaborating, women caught selling themselves, profiteers and simple old grudges all are severely punished, for example. Citizen Committees will likely be the local gangs. Or what is left of the thug police.
The practice of sanctioned reprisal by uniformed combatants is quite equal to what the partisans also do. Thus is the history of warfare.
I mentioned the Sh'ia Militia in Iraq in this context recently.
The fucked up part about war is everyone has to choose sides. But those are the lucky ones. You may not be allowed time to choose. Your side is the one you happened to be standing on. Or it could be the shape of your nose and the sound of your voice. Deal with it. And, you may just get killed, outright.

- the guy is not bound, hand not tied or anything.
- they set a little gasoline and sand, fuse line, right up to the guy's foot, but he just stands there.
- he has on fuel soaked clothes but he makes no move to pull all that off!!!
- he dances around completely engulfed, and finally collapses
- they bring up a front-end loader, bucket full of concrete debris, re-bar, and such
- they drop that on the cage, and it sumches like a pancake
- they scoop that mess up with the loader and dump in a deep hole in the sand
- the loader covers it up
- he had at least three chances to screw up their little play, but he didn't
- what did they threaten his family with?

Who really knows? The guys that "helped us find him" are in prison or dead. It was the result of waterboarding Obama is against, as in Torture does not work.
They crash in Navy SEALs, see a guy... pop pop, in the face. Then they bury him at sea. (They handed the crashed helicopter, rear silent rotor tech to the Chinese govt. by failing to destroy it along with the rest)

I am not going to watch the video. If someone has held you prisoner for years and has you locked up in a cage covered in gasoline maybe your mindset would be different. If he took off the robes they would still have killed him. He couldnt get out of the cage.
Here are a few items however. The video took time to produce and the reality is they burned him a while back and have been trying to negotiate to get paid a ransom while they knew he was dead.
The second one is a question. Why does it matter if they really did it? Can you not wrap your mind around the barbarity? Are you hoping that next week ISIS comes out and says they were kidding about the whole thing and produces the supposedly decapitated and burned victims completely alive and well? Maybe they are waiting till April 1st??
To me the technical aspect of whether any part of it was faked is irrelevant to the fact that a group in the world wants you to think or know they will kill people in the most horrible ways possible to get your attention. That this is not new, this has been going on since the beginning of mankind.
The US is not anywhere near the only target however, we have Japanese, Australian, French and other countries citizens all under attack as well.
I guess if we all just learned about Islam .. and converted... We wouldnt have to worry about dying. Well, if we picked the right sect and were lucky... Maybe... Allah be merciful... Yeah...
