growing 3 afghani kush, 5 gal pots, there about 10 inch tall, 400 watt MH, HPS for flower, on a moving track, at what height would you put into flower, plants are indica

I would do 1/3 the height you have available, just to make sure you still have room for the light to stay above it.
So like 1 foot if you have 3 feet available, 2 feet if you have 6 feet available. That's just my opinion.

I use time as a measurement as to when to start bloom. I wait for 4 weeks because some plants are naturally small, and height won't matter then.

height is no problem, my worry is light not getting down the into the plant with only 400 watts, so I should keep the plant short but how short, this type doubles in flower right, do you get most from the top of the plant, say I did 2 feet veg goes to 4 feet flower would that be to tall for the 400 watt to do its job,

probably...i have a 400 watt t does great but doesn't reach the lower branches very well so keeping them short does help.

ok keep them short what is short, whant to get the most out of these 3 plants using this light, want to do something before its to late these things are growing like crazy, will be getting a 600 watt light for the next grow,

Or if you can just set the light up from the side of the plant vertically it doesn't matter how tall it gets as long as your room can accommodate it.

This way you'd have to rotate the plants I think, but if you have two lights and reflective area then you should be fine no matter how tall it gets, and you might prefer lollipopping it in the long run.

With that setup? I would have those Fu#%ers so bent down and LST'd and pinched over and whatever it takes, and flowered them at about.. 10 inches high. It's not a lot of light, but it can be managed well.


Well.. you did ask what 'I' would do.. so I wasn't harping on what you are doing.. just telling you what I would do (at least next time) without a doubt.

meet you half way, will flower at 18 inch, should get to 3 feet??? no bending or hitting them with a hammer. the light should be able to handel 3 feet, starting to get things straight, my son is proud
