An umbrella term that describes filtering waxes and lipids out of an extraction, in this case single solvent. An extra 2 steps added in line in the extraction process in the closed loop system. One chamber where solvent sits for 2h with dry ice and alcohol sleeve, and another with a 5 micron polyester sock also with dry ice sleeve.

Interesting, ive never tried that but wanted too. Could that be the reason a lot of "my" runs turn to "sugar wax" or a 50/50 mix of shatter and crumble? (Basic bho glass extractor with 2 coffee filters) and purging "i" use a vac at 100-105 degrees F

Unless your material and or gas arent cold enough or youre dealing with really waxy material i dont see why it should. another reason for it to nucleate could be presence of moisture and fluctuations in temp while solvent is still abundant, from my experience. or agitation.
try going a little higher in temp so that the butane escapes the oil quicker. I urge at 115/120. Ive had small batches be done in 6ish hours i shit you not, nice clear and tasty. And yes the ppm of residual solvent are low enough.
tbh i hate what ppl call wax, i think its just an excuse to make a shitty extract. The only way im happy with ''wax'' is heating up my shatter til it melts (60ish c) and agitate it to hell until it butters up, once it has done so and cools down it will stay har and stable for a long time. It stinks! for a little while but unlike good stable carboxylic acid it loses its aroma with time.
Shatter for the win. You know youve done it right when you start cracking your extract inside a tuperware box covered with parchment paper cause everytime you crack a dab pieces fly everywhere, yes at room temperature. If its very terpy it gets snapier, its all about finding the right strain. My favourite is an amnesia re engineered by a friends old dutch mate. Even the trim makes propper shatter and live resin is like a sap with terpenes.
