Hey all, this isn't my first grow, but I have made some changes, and my plants are looking a little odd. So I doubled my wattage from 300w to 600w HPS. When I first did this I was a little too hopeful of how close I could hang the lamp, and cooked a couple leaves for a couple of hours, But then I raised it to about 2 feet above the plants, with a fan blowing over it (no ventilated hood). And now the plants don't seem heat stressed, but they are doing this weird glossy leaved, curled edges thing, and I am wondering what the issue might be. They are in a Bubbleponics/ DWC bucket, 5 gallons. There are a couple of airstones in there. They drink about a gallon a day, and I refill it once a day. In a closed space, it can get really humid, but I ventilate if necessary. I have CO2, low tech style, brewers yeast + sugar with a line running above the plants. I also sprayed with some CaCO3, but stopped that a while ago. They are 4-5 weeks into flower not exactly sure (forgot to mark the date somewhere). Nutrient schedule is 3 tsp Fox Farm Big Bloom, 2 tsp Fox Farm Grow Big, 1 tsp root booster, and 1 tsp cal mag. I also use a little humic acid. In the past I have done water changes 2-3 times during veg, once when switch to flower. This time I also did one a couple weeks after flower. And today I did another (though I had to syphon water which leaves at least a little in the bottom). Admittedly I don't have a ppm meter, but this sort of process has worked in the past with great results (especially last time). Anyways, the plants seem perfectly healthy, no die back of older leaves, mild yellowing of some new growth but not extensive (this started with the leaf burn and has since gotten better. The strain is OG Kush (I think, it was a bag seed from some good OG I had a while back, and I planted it, cloned it a couple times, and ultimately it hermed on some lower branches last grow, so I got a shitload of fem seeds, which is where these girls come from. So considering genetics I want to keep the stress as low as possible. There are 5 plants in 3 net pots, two are tiny (one essentially non-existent), but they were a little touch and go due to my neglect during germ and seeding. I planted 5, and then tried to favor the three that looked best in LSTing them to get best light conditions. Anyways, the three biggest are the ones that I am worried about, here are some pics:
So the tallest is in the third pic, but it is really stretched between nodes, and doesn't appear to be increasing in density like the others. The fourth and fifth are of the plant I fimmed which has 4 equally developed, equal heighted tops. The sixth is the most normal looking from my experience, and it is the 4th largest (most of its mass is in that one cola), the browning on leaves is from the burning that first day. And the last picture is the biggest bud, with that said, it seems leafy and stemmy. Should I be worried about any of this, or am I just spending too much time looking at my plants? Other shots are just top downs on the whole box.
Thanks for your help!
