What's going on with my GG#4

Hey forum, This is my first indoor grow and I am running into a problem. It looks like some sort of deficiency I can’t seem to get a hold of.

What strain, Seed bank, or bag seed. GG#4 clone from dispensary.

Method: FFOF and worm castings at 6 to 1

Vessel: plastic pot 3gal.

Water Ph at last feed (3.5g/gal Jack’s bloom booster and 5ml Botanicare cal-mag) was 6.80, ppm 657, EC 1315. Runoff was at pH 5.78, ppm 370, EC 740.

PPM/TDS or EC of nutrient solution if applicable

Indoor or Outdoor: indoor 2x4x5’7" closet.

Light system: viparspectra p1500 as of now 30" from canopy plus two corn LEDs at 60w each.

Temps; Day, Night: day 79-81deg; night 73-75deg

Humidity; Day, Night: day 60-62%; night 53-55%

Ventilation system: one 6 inch fan blowing from the top down ongoing.

AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier: no ac, small humidifier, no De-humidifier

Last fed yesterday morning. Problem started about a week and a half ago. Dec 12. I did a pH flush at 6.50 with 2 gal of water. After flush pH was at 5.90, ppm 259, and EC 403 runoff. I’m at a loss not sure what to do. If some one could help it would be much appreciated.

Calmag ... float ph closer to 6.5 ( FFOF is 6.3 ) .... stop runoff crap.

Every time you over water medium to “ test “ runoff .... you leach it. FFOF is stable if you ensure your ph “ going in “ is matching it.
Spray Epsom Salt ( mag sulfate ) to all leaf to aid in quick absorption and help green them up. LED panels ( especially blurple ) makes many strains calmag whores and a necessary evil at times. Keep environmental temps higher in tent to compensate for transpiration , spread watering out ( to ensure regular uptake / monitor ) ..... that way you will start to notice days between ACTUAL drying before next watering.

Bloom booster is for “ flower “ stage , grab something like jacks 15-5-20 .

As a matter of fact .... you can stop your jacks bloom ..... Ammend top soil with a scoop of FFOF alone and water in to “ recharge “ medium through grow. It’s stupid simple and will carry initial growth for 6 weeks before exhaustion ( strain dependent ).

I run FFOF on water only ( tap ) and minor amendments ( kelp / EWC ) at various intervals during grow. The other best alternative is a top dress of dry Nutes like ( Dr. Earth ) - scratched in , then watered. No measuring shit or particular feed charts .

looking good man, i dont know why people have to charge up on nutes when ffof has plenty and can easily be amended with some dolomite lime and epsom salt and boom, im good to go till flower transplant and then im good throughout flower with light use of some bloom nutes.

Thx for the advise, will be getting some epsom salt today. I usually water a gal. just for runoff. I will tone it down to 3/4 gal next time. Pot is still a little heavy. Still have a day or two till next feed. Flipping to 12/12 next week but I will still try the 15-5-20 jack's. Or even the part a and b.

Another thing to check on the ppm/EC & pH side...
Leave a little water+nutes...etc in a container and check the ppm/EC and pH between each watering phases...something could be drifting quickly.
I'm not meaning save or test run-off water...simply the same stuff you water the plant with...just put a little aside to do tests on.
Just a thought. :P
EDIT: Chart added...hope it helps.

I have a notebook and I log the pH, ppm, and EC of the tap water, after adding nutes, and runoff every feeding. Plus dates.

I haven't mentioned this earlier because I didn't think it mattered, but after going thru my feeding log I included silica with my cal-mag on dec 9. The discoloration started on dec 10. I've since heard that when using silica it should be mixed first before cal-mag. That day dec 9 I mixed 5ml of cal-mag then 5ml of silica in a gallon of tap water. Discoloration started next day. Fed on dec 12 silica again but this time added jack's bloom. Order of mix 3.5g of Jack's then 5ml cal-mag and lastly 2.5ml of silica. That was my last time using the silica. @Budzbuddha what is your thoughts on the order of mixing the silica and could that have contributed to the problem? I have misted the leaves with epsom salt yesterday not much difference as of yet. Thx

I usually mix silica first ... baseline the ppms shown then go from there . I run Dynagro Pro-Tek at about 1/2 tsp. per gallon in feed mix or as a Foliar ( tend to do this more often than in mix ). I would look at your specific brand and its label to find application information.
However the ph of solution usually runs high and I have to drop it with Alaska ph crystals to a more useable range.

Since I have pretty much stopped “ bottle Nutes “ altogether , I apply silica only during hotter months of year to make them harden up a bit for the weather. Other than that , I really don’t use regularly .

You really can get away with simple top dress instead of drama of mixes and ratios.

When are you gonna flip her ? ...

Asking only because you can LST / train / cleanup that girl now , Top Dress FFOF , water in and leave it alone .
Stop leaching , let plant pull what it wants from the same medium ( food source ) it has been growing in from the start.
Use jack’s bloom again after stretch from flip , around week 2 flower.
For FFOF , you can add some EWC to it to really have plant turn up the volume.

Sometimes less is better .

looks like you may be able to turn your light down a bit if it progresses....shes simply needs a tad of food and not worry so much about the ppm and ph when using soil. (checking it is fine but worrying is not)
A simple topdress like someone else mentioned is all they need. (just ffof)
I would NOT be watering a gallon to run off in a 3 gallon pot with real soil. Your flushing out good things when using that much water in a good soil. if your ppm is really only 20 then you just need calmag with every watering almost.

Everything in this post is spot on !

are you using RO, if you have tap no need for calmag
That’s false. I’ve seen lots of mg deficiencies when tap water is used. He definitely has mg deficiency. It’s seen in leaves and stalk pretty clearly to me. No need for him to worry too much. Plants look healthy otherwise ..still have half decent leaf lift..and can be easily corrected.

depends on the water source but generally there is no need, maybe add Epsom salts but 5ml of calmag seems excessive for someone using tap and soil.

also ocean forest contains plenty of calcium sources
Agreed but depends man. Those are decent sized plants and who knows how long they’ve been in same soil..in same pots. I use ocean forest with tap water as well and magnesium and nitrogen deficiency are usually first to pop up. I grow large plants often and they can chew right through ocean forest food supply faster than you’d think
