Whats Happening To My Baby?

1st time grower, and poster.

My new (14 days old) plants new growth (small leaves) are turning yellow from the inside (stem) out, the tips are still green as are the veins, the older leaves are still green, but the stem is turning purple from the soil up. This is happening to 2 of my plants out of 6.

Please help, I have no webcam so pics are unavailable at moment, every pic I can find on the net is of older plants so cant tell what the problem is.

All plants are watered with rainwater, in a peat based compost, no feeding yet.

Hello Again,

Thanks to all who tried to help, it seems the problem was iron deficiency, Ive given it some Iron sulphate and 24hrs later the newer leaves have turned green again and it seems to have sorted it out.

Ill be posting loads more of 'help me' threads in the future, so please do.
