I did a copy and paste of my answer to someone else asking if their plant was done today......"Correct. Their are 4 types of trichomes the glandular stalked trichs that appear on the flowers are most potent but the entire plant including leaves and stems is covered in them. A 60-100x scope from radioshack will help you see. When they turn cloudy that particular trich is no longer producing cannabinoids. As soon as they turn cloudy they are done, as thc degrades into cbn along with other degrading cannabinoids it turns amber..In order to have the most trichs at peak potency inherently some will have to be amber.. the later you harvest the more cbn and more "messed up" hazy dreamlike etc the high will be. The flavors become mature and robust as well...... your plant has a long time to go. Happy growing"

Ignore advise as I think yours is done. Just didn't feel like retyping

Ok, are you looking through a microscope to see the crystals to see what color they are?

Just by looking at those really terrible pictures, I do believe you are looking at the pistils (hairs) and that is not what you are supposed to be checking. As scrawny and hairy as those buds are, I personally think you have weeks to go.

Amber trichomes ARE CBN(Cannabinol) which is degraded thc, very low potency, something like 90% loss. You chop when you see cloudy and maybe a few amber. There's a sticky on this forum with very detailed information stating this, and it's on wikipedia.

You said you're 3 weeks into flowering? If so, no you are no where near ready. 8-9 weeks from switch to 12/12 is a pretty basic understanding of flowering time. Anything less and you just wasted a couple months of your life.
