I'm on my first grow using soil and it's really simple but I keep reading about these hydroponic things it sounds really hard giving plants loads Of different nutes and stuff. So why do people do it ?

Because of the extra yield and potency alongside faster growth.

It is easier to attain good flavour and taste in soil. The nutrient regime's can get complicated. I use the full house and garden line in soil.

If you are going to go hydro you should have no doubts about your nutrient regime, make sure you know it inside out and that you have everything you need.

Ensure you know your PH's and your PPMs/EC values and what they should be at dependent on the stage of growth.

You can use the general hydroponics LUCAS formula which is apparently easy to use, I personally dont use GH and am sold on house and garden nutrients.

Ensure you learn everything you need to know before even attempting Hydro is notoriously unforgiving of mistakes.

Hope that helps.

Thanks mate u always got the answers I'm not gonna attempt hypdro just because it's my first time grow and soil is so easy my mate who helPed set me up with the clones gets about 4oz of one plant every 11weeks I'm doin two so 8 oz every 11weeks seems pretty good to me

Just remember not to overfeed them, everyone does it first grow, honestly everyone. Keep em on water til they look a bit hungry then feed. Back way off if you see burnt tips.

Trust me less is more !

hydro is piss easy and as long as u read up u could do it for your first grow. just look up how to make a dwc grow and u wont regret it.and if you know what your doing u can make a hydro grow taste just as good as a soil grow.i gro organic hydro everynow and then and it has the same taste as organic soil.

Hydro is doable from day one don't get me wrong. But its a much bigger time investment than soil.

Just my two cents.

Work for nutes not water :) let them get dry then wet them. And only feed a hungry plant ! Its simple once you know the strain.

good descicion, get good soil, canna professionalor fox farm, and you wont need much nutes only maybe a couple of feeds after about week 3 of 12/12

I honestly find hydro easier. There's less guess work than soil. You can't know exactly how much nutrients the plant is getting from the soil, while in hydro you know that at most the water is providing Ca and Mg. I don't like having variables I can't control. With a TDS meter and a pH meter you can tell exactly how much nutrients the plants are getting and you can replicate your conditions from grow to grow easily. And hydro doesn't really cost more. DWC needs a bucket and an airstone, compare that to a bag of FFOF or Roots. The other systems need pumps, which aren't that pricey. Only High Pressure Aero is significantly more expensive, and that makes up for the upfront costs by making much more efficient use of nutes. And blowin away every other system in terms of speed and yield.

I always water and feed to 30 percent runoff and I use house and garden drip clean with my feeds. Never had an issue and I have nigh on total control over my nutrient regime.

IMO soil grown grade always has a nicer smell and flavour.
