Wet paper towel, sandwich baggie, 80 degrees, not much light. Adds up to 100% success for me.

I would agree with ULMResearch. I sometimes just put the seed straight into soil. I get about 8/10 to work for me like that. As long as the seeds are viable you shouldn't have a problem getting them to germinate.

Should i insert the whole seed in to the soil or just the root?

I've germinated my first seed ever, and I mean ever.
I poured water into a shot glass, threw the seed in there and waited for the seed to sink (took 24 hours). It's been recommended to me that you leave the seed in the water for 24-48 hours. Mine is currently cracked, and later today I'll take that out and put it into a growing medium.

I just stick em straight into some seed starting soil
when you pre-germinate in a towel or water when you move them into the soil you run the risk of damaging the tender taproot that protrudes from the seed
I have only had one seed not sprout and i suspect it was just a dud and had nothing to do with germination style

Finally someone else that does it like I have been by planting it directly into the soil. I have done the paper towel method, but I like to grow several strains at once and tend to get them mixed up doing the paper towel method. Plus I find it easier to just put them into the dirt and leave them. No transplanting something delicate.

My room is fairly messy at the moment, and I just dropped my seed! I spent a good 5 minutes sadly looking all over the carpet for it. Thankfully I found it ^_^
Quick Question (Considering it's related I figured I wouldn't make a new thread, let me know if I should):
I've added a picture of my seed starting to sprout it's tap root. Should I put this straight into the ground now? When the seed germinates, do you wait until a certain amount of the tap root is showing before you plant?

plant it now. until recently, i always planted seeds straight in seed starter mix or peat pellets. this year i started soaking seeds for 24 hrs then planting and now thats my new method. i started about 400 seeds this year already and i have almost 100% germ rate. all the seeds i soak look like your pic after 24 hrs so i would plant right now.

, I just planted my seed.. and in a much more kinder location than first planned. It should get a decent amount of sunlight where it's planted, however I'm concerned that if it grows too high it'll poke out of it's hiding place.
