There's this one
hXXp://www.e-conolight.com/Product/EProductDetail.asp?ProductFamilyID=31&FGNumber=E-LF34X54U
for $75 plus shipping
Or this one (Which I bought)
hXXp://www.yourcablehookup.com/fluorescent-highbay-lamp-t5homt-ychfhb45homt-p-28390.html
For $113 + low shipping and bulbs included.
Both are 4 tube 4 foot fixtures. The first looks kinda cheap and is white.
The other has spec reflector (Nice)

The only way you'll be able to max a 4' x 4' with T5s is to use an 8-lamp fixture. You may want to consider a 400w HID instead; It'd be less heat and a cheaper rig.

^^ wouldn't be less heat at all. T5 flouros almost give off no heat, you could probably get away with just using a PC fan for exhaust.

I'd use 2 4' x 4 bulb fixtures. Check out the New Wave. I have a couple of them that I've been happy with. This place has them pretty cheap

1 watt/hour = 3.413 Btu

432 watts (T5) x 3.413 Btu = 1,474.416 Btu

400 watts (HID) x 3.413 Btu = 1,365.2 Btu

You will recall that the cooling power of an air-conditioner is rated in Btu (British Thermal Units) Also, notice that space heaters are rated in watts.

Where do you come up with these numbers?

It's physics bro. I'll site Wikipedia here, but you can do a search for anything like "1 watt in Btu" or "1kWh in Btu"..... any decent energy conversion chart will show you. Copy and paste.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BTU

google.com/search?hl=en&q=1+watt+in+Btu&btnG=Search

Just to be clear; you have to consider time in all this so the figures in my previous example occur of the period of 1 hour.

arggh!!! I know this is an ANCIENT thread, but I've read it twice now and your comment pisses me off. Have you ever heard of the term "efficiency"? Floros are way more efficient, meaning they use those watts and actually produce light with it, not an assload of heat. I run both HID and T5 and I can tell you the T5's aren't hotter. And yes it's in a 4 bulb 4 foot setup. A simple comparison of watts does not give you a comparison of BTU yield because you're dealing with two different bulb types. A 50w incandescent bulb puts out way more heat than a 50 watt cfl. That's why cfl's are more efficient. They convert more electrical energy to light instead of heat.
 too funny

432 watts > 400 watts
