Whats the best way to germ/sprout seeds. I have t5 (blue). Starting seeds in roots orgainc soil straight into the medium then I top the pots with saram wrap and a rubber band for humidity dome. Alot of seeds haven't taken and some that did died shortly after sprout. Can I get some detailed information about this subject cause i am quite the perfectionist and i am having trouble.

Imo seedlings do not need a humidity dome. When we start seeds we fold up a paper towel a couple of time and place the seeds in the middle of the paper towel and wet it. If you have a shallow dish you can place the paper towel in that and make sure to keep it wet at all the time. Place the dish in a dry warm area and they should sprout any where from 3-7 day's. Be sure to be patient over all with seedlings they need your love , care and attention.

so u germinated the seeds right? then put em in a pot and saran wrapped the pot to create more humidity? i thought u meant u sprouted the seeds into a plant already and saran wrapped the plant LOL anyways if you poke holes all over the saran wrap i bet that will help..your problem is there not getting the oxygen that they need.

Starting directly into a soil-less mix or soil is fine; the saran wrap is likely the issue, and that led to damping off of the seedlings which is caused by pathogenic fungi. The fungi is ubiquitous, so the key to preventing the issue is to avoid excess moisture\humidity and warmth. Seeds should fare well in the open air, at relative humidity around 50% or even lower so long as the medium is kept moist. Between 70-78 degress (F) is also good for germination. But a combination of high humidity and warmth will provoke damping off in seeds\seedlings.
