whats the difference between coco coir and hydroton?

ok besides one being clay balls and the other almost lookin like dirt. what are the advantages and disadvantages of both products? right now im running hydroton and having a couple problems with the ph shifts. but i found out i was supposed to prep them with ph adjusted water which i didnt only rinsed off really good under the hose lol but besides that nothin really bad.

i was thinkin maybe next harvest try one side by side in my ebb and flow. will i have to feed them different or can i feed same nutrients?

any info will be greatly appreciated friends

I have my plants growing in a smart pot with hydroton rocks at the bottom, with Roots Organic Soil mixed with coco fiber and this combination works GREAT for me.

is this god body himself from youtube!!!!! ya im runnin ebb and flow and also dwc. i was wondering if this soil/ soiless mix would be alright if i ran this combo or would it affect the hydroponic solution in my rez? plus i have either soil base nutrient, hydro, or coco coir. also was wondering if i can run the house and garden coco cor a and b with this set up?
