Well to be fair, we would be way better off from a breeding standpoint if more older landraces were well preserved. Not saying landrace A or B is better than X grown today but we would be able to make a lot more variety of Xs if those strains had been better preserved. Lately a lot of breeders have been doing preservation efforts.
However, nostalgia is an hell of a thing. I look back and think holy shit that "redbud" sinsemilla those old farmers in the country grew while I was growing up was the shit. Maybe it was, maybe not. Its like a restaurant you remember as a child and you go back and think why did i love this so much?
