What’s the longest recurring dark period…

…you have used to finish your Sativas?

Have a small greenhouse with a Spiderfarmer 1000D to supplement, and these girls are taking longer than I remember their parents ever taking. I do not black them out but will be forced to now as the equinox just happened here (probably should’ve done earlier to account for ambient twighlight).
Growing this round of plants for seed (but will still make coconut oil extract).

I’m wondering if tenting them and finishing them with just the SF1000, and a longer dark cycle will help- leaving town in a week so will be unable to “pull tarp”.

I’d say at least another month left to finish off hairs and trichomes, and I want to make sure seeds reach full potential.

Flipped them December 12th, and they’ve stretched a factor of 3x. Thought they would finish in time, but I’m sure the slow increase of daylight confused them.

Feel free to send in the monkeys- I found a couple nanners, but willing to take my chances with the seeds bc I want to save this strain.
Also, I grow for personal use so a couple nanners found in next gen will just get pulled as I spot.

TIA

When I was researching landrace sativas I saw a lot of people running 11/13 but I’ve never tried it myself.

I'm on 11/13 right now with some Highland Thai and Malawi in the flower tent. I've done 10/14 but didn't switch to that until about week 16 with some Oldtimers Haze. Damn thing wouldn't stop flowering. I don't know if it did any good though because when I finally pulled it after 20 weeks it was still shooting out fresh pistils.

The one in first pic seems to keep shooting out fresh pistils.
I think the gradual increase in daylight, even though there’s been enough of a dark period (Wintertime) for most of flowering, confused them.
Pretty sure I’ll might have some hermies from the seeds, but since the plants now that hermied did so late in flower, I think there’s a chance I could’ve feminized some, hopefully all, of them. Plants were originally pollinated from a male from seed, so a lot of variables there!
A lot of debate on hermies/intersex, but I’m going to grow out the seeds bc regardless I want keep my Kwazulu going and the flowers still have great terps and trichs.

Went the route of just tarping the whole greenhouse and adding another fan (exhaust) and dehum.
Going to drop light to 11hour cycle. Thanks for the feedback folks.

Some sativas just don't know when to quit.

I did 13 weeks last year on one. I still think It was early
That’s about where I’m headed.
Have one in there that’ll be ready in a couple weeks, but it was a “volunteer” (unplanned) sprout that I can tell by the smell is a hybrid of two I had.
