Sometimes they smacked you. DI had this one kid so scared he stopped and was paralyzed, DI had to smack him to get things going againYes they did!
At least they used to, now the DI would probably get you a napkin.
Our company did something particularly heinous (well, we must have according to our CC). We got marched to our barracks after chow & fell out to the parade grounds with full sea bags. The object was to throw your bag as far as physically possible & then lay down and roll up to it. Get up and throw again/roll again - this kept up until at least half of the company puked (in your uniform of course) - can't foul the parade grounds.
