THAT is great info! I've made many expensive mistakes growing weed, especially on lights. I've been out of the loop for the last few years, not being able to grow, so all the jargon and techie stuff is over my head at the moment. Just to know not to buy MH is great info; much appreciated.you asked for the newest tech. Mars hydro is far from it lol.
If you want something new-ish that wont break the bank check out HLG or BudgetLed. I couldnt be happier with the budget 500w in my 3.5x3.5' space. link belowTHAT is great info! Are you looking to buy a light? The QB 96 Elite V2 discussed in the other thread are not the newest or most efficient (still pretty efficient) but they are relatively affordable and very effective. I have 2 of these engines for approximately a 2x4ft. area and I think @PJ Diaz uses 4 in a 4x4ft. tent.OK, so what is it, Cree, Cob, etc?
I think this is the one I'm going to get. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0817D5D6K/?coliid=I5TDN1OOBDWY2&colid=23IUQQXTMTEJN&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_itAre you looking to buy a light? QB96 Elite V2 Engine
QB96 Elite V2 is a white LED Board with boosted red spectrum. Each Board is powered by 64 high power white LED, 16 630nm Red LED and 16 660nm Deep Red LED.horticulturelightinggroup.com
If you were inclined to go this route you would also need a driver (AC to DC power supply), a plug for the AC side(or a power cord and waterproof connector work well), wire (18 gauge solid core works well for the board connections), and connectors such as wago 221 series. To hang the QB96, you can either frame them with aluminum angle or hang them individually from the heatsink.
Hope I post this before you waste money..I unfortunately was cheap and bought the @MarsHydrofactory tsw2000 ... Wish I would have spent another $40 and got a better lightThanks so much for the link. Have you had issues with your lights performance (does it run overly hot?) or are you just not happy with the quality?Hope I post this before you waste money..I unfortunately was cheap and bought the @MarsHydrofactory tsw2000 ... Wish I would have spent another $40 and got a better light
The quality..not enough red..no name drivers..need a screwdriver to dim..it only doesn't run hot because I have the drivers outside of the tentHave you had issues with your lights performance (does it run overly hot?) or are just not happy with the quality?
Yep, I do run 4 of them in a 4x4 @ around 480watts total. I'm thinking about adding two more (no additional driver) for a bit better spread with less headroom, but honestly just 4 of them is totally fine. You just gotta hang them a bit higher than other QB's because the individual LEDs on the board are run around 3x harder than the typical 288's at the same wattage, but that also means better penetration of light into the canopy. Are you looking to buy a light? I wouldn't. Some no name Chinese company giving you questionable quality parts with zero customer service or warranty, just to save 20%. No thanks.I think this is the one I'm going to get. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0817D5D6K/?coliid=I5TDN1OOBDWY2&colid=23IUQQXTMTEJN&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
