I literally take a couple days to wash my hydroton I will wash it for like 30 min one day let it dry and then wash it again. But like Ryan said thats straight PH lock I can agree because I grew DWC for a few years, its a great fun way to grow and you get explosive growth but man it's time consuming.

ok i will try an respond to all those comments :)

water temps are defo no near 19c i think my ph pen places it around 25c when i am checking the ph

incase people are reading my wording wrong , my ph pen was out of calibration by about 1.5 i forget whether it was up or down the scale , i checked using normal tap water and calibrating then checking the same water and i remember it was way over 1 full digit of what i was setting the water at .... so instead of 6ph i was reading either 4.5 or 7.5 in the most extreme case

i have now kept my ph at 5.8 since i noticed this, temps havent gone over 28c and thats with the temp sensor sitting on one of the bucket lids i think its plastic casing will only trap heat i need to get a better temp monitor

good flushing tips and diagrams too thats quite helpful , im worried about trying to pull the roots back through the pots as the pots slats are quite fine and i have alot of root ball underneath , wont i cause alot of damage trying to get all that back through emptying the pebbles and renewing and planting them again an trying to get the rootball through the pot ?

I edited my comment you don't have to remove from the lid, I got confused, only to ditch that hydroton and replace with buffered one.

All I know is if you are doing DWC your water temps should be 60-70 degrees whatever that is converted to metric....Even if your PH was wrong ( Thats the good thing about hydro you can do a instant res change ) you have since corrected the problem. But there is some sort of nute lock, so give the res a change perhaps rinse with hot water and wipe down.. Add some fresh water ( if tap let it sit out for 24 hours ) and give her a low dose of nutes say half strength of what you were giving her let her have some time to heal. But yes if your res is too warm those plants aren't getting the amount of dissolved oxygen they should be getting. cold water = more oxygen and no root rot

Thanks for the formula and the signature both are so accuarate. Nevertheless define the variables and explain the constants, coz I can't use it like that

I did hydro to begin with, and watch out using your well water. I don't know why, but my well water made my hydro crazy...so I switched to using distilled water and my plants stopped looking like yours, but they never looked as good as the same plant under my care in soil...so good luck, I could never get the Ph to stay right, and any nutes seemed to be too much. Then again I was doing DWC with an airstone and some people say that they noticed that airstones made the Ph fluctuate wildly...either way when I used my well water that also has a ph of 7 and my plants looked exactly like yours.

could i line the outside of my res's with tinfoil or something to reflect the heat that the lights give out , im sure the black plastic is only absorbing the emitted heat

another thought i had was to build a water cooler with a fan and rad outside the tent and some coiled up 10mm copper pipe in each res all plumbed to the rad and fan ?

well i done all you said last night changed all the buckets flushed the pebbles too took ph to 5.7 (some said 5.5 some said 5.8 and i was usually at 5.8 so took it one point down) and things seem fine , still damage where the damage was but the curling up has calmed a little i will check again soon before i go into the other tent

i will be posting some problems with that grow too lol :/

Damn Dude first you need to flush out the nutes...then you need to trim the burnt parts off so it doesnt cause more harm. use aboout 1/4 of the nutes or just normal water for a while before you start using nutes again. Make sure that your plant is not being stressed out!!!!!
