My girl is a little sick, can anyone help a newb out.
She has yellowing around the edges on some of the leaves and spots everywhere else.

She is only 18 days old, using FF nutes, and my ph is about 8.

I just got my ph solutions, so i can now regulate my ph.
Do you think it might be a ph problem?

don't pay any attention to the date on the photo, i just took it today.

+ REP FOR ANY HELP

I had the same problem with my casey jones, I cut waaay back on the nutes and after a week or so it got better. Don't worry too much, It'll be alright. The pictures don't look too bad anyways.

pH about 8? holy FUCK that's high dude.
You want your pH to be like mid 6's... at the highest.

I know 6.5-8.0 doesn't sound like a big difference, but remember each point on the pH scale is a 10fold increase... so 6.5-8.0 is HUUUUGE.

lower your pH or that plant is gonna be in for a bumpy ride man, trust me

oh she looks like she'll be ok!! just give her a flush with ph neutral water and dont give her any nutes for a week. a couple of mine looked like that a week ago and they're grand now.

first n foremost tho, get yer ph down :)

your pH is way to high. you need to get it down closer to 6.0. Your plant is probably having problems getting any nutes with a pH that high...

This is not correct advice. cutting back on the nutes and then just "not worrying about it" is horrible advice. Growing weed is not easy. If it was, everyone would do it. It takes a lot of understanding. As an admitted newbie, you have a lot of learning to do. And you are at the right site for that. Go through all the forums. Read and learn. Go to FAQ page and read about plant problems and how to identify them and what it takes to fix them. That'll be a good start...

But just making a change like lowering your nutes, and then kicking back and figuring it'll be ok is not the way to go. You need to understand why the plant does what it does....

Like most of us said here, your pH is the general problem you have at the moment. But, that's probably not the only problem. Because your pH is too high, your nutes are being locked out (which you should read and learn about: why does a high or low pH lock nutes out?). So, that could possibly start to cause a nute deficiency....if that happens, then what???? What do you do then?? You see what I'm saying?? You have a lot of learning ahead of you. :-) That's not a bad thing, btw. It's fun... which is what growing should be, fun. But it also needs to be taken a bit seriously if you want to produce quality smoke... Good luck to you!!!

Hey snutter thanks alot for your advice, i've been reading alot of the treads in this forum.
So hopfully i'll get to the problem soon. And i figured that ph would be my frist step, and then i'll go from there.
I've been watching alot of the grow videos and i know that my ph should be around 6.3 to 6.8 or so.

peace

sound advice from sutter there..... macro nutrients (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) are locked out of your root system when ph drops too low 5+-, while micro nutrients (Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Manganese, Boron, Zinc, and Copper) normally get locked out if pH is above 7. so general rule of thumb for a newb, keep it above 6, and below 7.

PH IS THE CORNERSTONE TO SUCCESSFULLY GROWING MARIJUANA
hope this helped....

also be careful when pHing your nutes.... i also use FF products. my tap is 7.6, after adding the recommended feed (3teaspoons per gal ffGrBg), my pH drops to around 6.6-6.7, so i have no use for the ph down. as far as the fox farm big bloom, it doesn't seem to effect my pH at all, so i use pH down. appx 4drops per gal. i'm not saying your nutes will effect your in a similar way, just advising you to test after adding nutes.... happy growing and nice plant....

Hey thanks Painwrek, good advice on ph ing the nutes.
I've been adding the nutes to the water and then ph ing it.
And then i using my ph down to get it where it should be.

I just flushed my plant with some ph ed water, and it is still sitting around 7.

Should i do it again with some lower ph ed water like 5 to bring it down to about 6 or so?

So it sounds like you're checking the pH before you water your plants, which is good. But what's more important, as a soil grower, is what the "run-off" pH is at. Get your run off pH to the desired level, and you'll be good to go as far as pH is concerned. Then you can focus on next steps...

All right i'll try that out snutter, and that should tell me that my soil is where i want it to be right?
