What's up with Vaporizers? (noob)

Hi All,

I would like some advice from folks who have tried/use vaporizers.

I recently purchased http://www.gotvape.com/store/extreme-vaporizer.php to smoke my legal herbs and am dissapointed.

I read lots of reviews on this and it seemed the best bang for your buck, though all of them are expensive. I believe there is nothing wrong with the vaporizer.. the temp, fan, parts are all top notch. It's just that both my girl and I get way more effects from using more traditional water pipe methods. We also seem to use more legal herbs with the vaporizer. At around 130C we start to taste it.. and around 215C is when there is a clear white smoke.

How long should a full bowl of legal herbs last at 215C when it should be changed?

Anyone use a vap and is happy? Am I doing something wrong?

man we use a volcano and fill up a bag and it will knock ya on your ass.. what brand of vaporizer did ya get ...

I have several vaporizers, never smoke. Very happy.

- Is the bud completely dry?
- Grind your bud and let it sit to dry.
- Your bud must be ground fine, not chopped up.
- I vape my Volcano at 205C, start around 200C and use the bag instead of the whip.
- The whip takes some skill to use: drawing too fast cools the heating chamber so your hot air going through the bud is too cool to vaporize it.
- Using the whip you must draw slow, or puff like a cigar and stop.
- Give the heating chamber time to recover temperature.
- How much bud are you loading the bowl with?

The Extreme is a Vaporizer that looks like it should be great but does two things average. I am not a fan of glass bowls, stainless steel is durable, clean.

The Volcano is fantastic, probably the thing that people notice least is how resilient the machine is, how easy it is to clean. If you've got the money this is a great machine. My favorite among the bag/reservoir type.

If you want an inexpensive bag type I'd go with the HerbalAire, it's reviewed better than the Extreme.

The other types I have/like are:

Silver Surfer - whip, direct draw. Simple, people love it. I gave mine to a friend, I never used it because of the Volcano. My friend loves it, says he's higher than ever before and uses half the bud of smoking.

Launch Box - Magic Flight: IMO the best portable on the market. I have an I-inhale (Iolite) that is useless. At ~$90 USD plus a 15 minute battery charger this is 1/3 the price of other portables and could be used as a full time home vaporizer. If you're short on cash this is where I'd start. I can get higher using the LB than with my Volcano, thicker hits. Takes a little more time and a bit of practice but thicker hits. Has a trench instead of a bowl, permanent screen. Conduction between the screen and the powdered bud allows for 3-5 second warm ups and good tasting hits. Uses one AA battery, lasts me for a trench over an hour and a half walk. The warranty: lifetime replacement if the LB is broken for any reason, including operator misuse. The warranty makes sense when you figure out how the box works.

Purple Days is a direct draw vaporizer that gives 2-3 good draws per bowl and 40 bowls per gram. Amazing flavorful hits. It stays on all day long, or use a timer - takes 1/2 hour to warm up, and uses about the same electricity as a night light. You can get a battery pack and use it as a portable. Only $180. The catch, theres a 9+ week waiting period. Mine took 14 weeks from order to arrival. If you live in the US you can get the Myrtlezap, the vaporizer that the Purple Days was designed from. Very similar but Purple Days has a cooler name and claims improvements over the Myrtlezap. The Myrtlezap has brass in the air flow

Another type is the flame heat source on the heating block, Supreme is the best portable in this class. I bought a cheap plastic housed VP600 that bubbled the first try so I scavenged the ceramic heating tube and made my own Plug n Play vaprorizer with a jet torch, the ceramic tube, a metal light switch box for housing, and the bowl set from the VP. Worked better than the vapoir gene. The Supreme will give you Volcano size hits in the same time, but the unit takes time to warm up.

I've made a Volcano from an old metal Vapor Gene, a heat gun, silicone tubing and a Volcano Bag. Like the Vriptec. Which was also the name of an onion belt back in the day, or as we called it the "What is that fucking stupid thing you have on?"

infdjedi these are the best people to go to for vaporizer help. Very knowledgable but the people argue constantly - not just about the best vaporizer but life and death arguments about the proper temperature to use on the same model of vaporizer.

Don't ask for help there - read - some members pride themselves on rudeness for any reason and being a newbie is the biggest vunerability anyone can have there. Other than to knock off someone else's vaporizer, then pariah. I don't post there much but I've been though the entire forum and keep up to date. The very best vaporizer forum/information on the planet.

I have the iolite and it works extremely well. It's temp is set at 190 degrees celsius, and produces nice hits of visible vapor... I like it better than the launch box because the launch box uses rechargeable batteries and each battery is good for around one bowl, and one bowl is good for one person... So if you have 5 people you need 5 batteries, and you better make sure theyre all charged. My iolite i can just pack a nice bowl and itll be good for 3 or 4 people.... Need more? Repack it. The butane lasts for 2 hours, good enough for at least 3-4 bowls.

best tip ive heard so far. i started drawing it really slow but for like 30 seconds and the hit is so amazing +rep
