whats wrong with my plant

Okay, tis plant is like 7 weeks old. its bag seed so it was a long time before it even sprouted leaves. partly due to my insufficient light and ventilation and partly because its shit seed. I think its just some mexican brick seed.

anyways heres my problem, the taller plant is the one in question. Some of the fan leaves are gettinh too big and blocking the light to the rest of the plant. Granted it is only like 8 inches, its bushy. There is some serious growth underneath the fan leaves. First question, i know its not good and can hurt or stunt my plant but is it "okay" to remove a few that are blocking light and looking deadish anyways.

The leaves arent dead, they are still green and still growing. but the are kind of caving in on themselves. Is this a light issue or heat issue or nute issue? I am currently using 150 hps bulb with 2 15 watt 65 watt equiv daylight CFL to light up under it. Im thinking nute issue because i just realized how long that plant is been in the soil without proper nutes. but my soil says it has enough nutes for 3 months right on the bag. so idk. and the tips of some of the bigger lazier fan le aves are point turned under a little and yellowish edged. please help, any info is appreciated.

my little plant, some sort of kush seed is doing good. its leaves are night and green and branhinh out with rigid edges and lines.

get rid of that reflective stuff you got inside the pot. That's keeping the water from evaporating and it's probably suffocating the roots. Your plant should be twice this size or more, in 7 weeks. I've never seen someone do that with any plant ever.

i would go with what Punk said. Those covers are prob not letting the roots get enough air or dry out properly and could increase humidity in the pot resulting in root rot. The curling under is a Nitrogen prob i think, poss over feed if your feeding them with anything other then water for the mo isnt needed as you say your using time release medium. I wouldnt go chopping any large fan leaves off as the plant needs them to photosynthesis. I personally remove some of the lower growth (say the bottom couple of inches) as you say they wont get much light down there and it'll help the plant to concentrate on the growth closest to the light.
The main prob you'll prob find is down to the fact its bag seed. You cant beat good genetics. Maybe you wanna try some Autoflowers from sweetseeds.

Hope this helps.

Peace,
GT.

EDIT: Make sure you get a wet and dry cycle going, basically meaning wait till the medium is coming away from the pots before watering. The best bet is to get a moisture metre and wait until its at 10-15% moisture before watering. The curling and rusty edges you have may be just down to over watering?...

okay so i went ahead and removed that reflective film. i thought nit would help reflect some light under the plant. and i also turned off my two cfl. now my temp is more maintained at 87 degrees with 35 percent humidity. every morning i look at my plants and the have grown overnight. its just those fan ;eaves and a few others that look troublesome.

ill try the water cycle on the next watering. i already water them when i put my finger into the soil a few inches and it feels dry. so i water till i see water come out the drain. thats probably a bad idea.

ive had that film on for about about 2 weeks, should i transplant into some better fresh soil? or will they be okay in its current home?

Looks like a little too much nitrogen to me. What kind of soil are you using? Please tell me it's not MG. What kind of nutes are you using?....dude what is your PH?

Soil: yes it is MG with time release nutrients. The bag says it has enough for 3 months.

Nutes: some Garden Club all purpose organic plant food pellets. 10-2-8

Miracle Grow is bad for growing weed. It has time released fert granules that activate with moisture. The fertilizer in it isn't made for or good for marijuanas needs. When you flush your soil you may be making the problem worse by activating more fert granules. I would repot in better soil. And ditch those pellets. You can find better cheap nutrients if money is an issue. Look into Jacks Classics or even General Hydroponics.

So what kind of soil would you suggest. I have a nursery close by so I'll go get better soil. But not sure of type. And are those nutrients available at like a loses or somehing?

I used Fox Farm and loved it. People like sunshine mix #4, but I've never used it. You can make your own for cheap. Just google soil recipes for weed. See if there is a hydroponic store around you. They will have everything you need as far as nutrients and maybe soil. I order mine online.
