My plants are looking pretty good, and gettin rather tall ( ive topped them all already) and was just wondering what do YOU think the best way to figure out the sex of these plants is? Should i take a snippin' and maybe put it somewhere else and put it on 12/12 and see what it does or should i just change all the plants cycles to 12/12 and go from there? If any experienced homies could give me some direction thatd be sweet.

As long as you check on them reasonably often during 12/12, you should be able to see the cluster balls before they open and pollinate. If that's what you meant to do. If there are males.

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you are trying to make sure you can keep the strain of plants you have going then clone them. Make sure, and I know this sounds obvious, that you mark your clones so you know which plant is thier parent plant. Its a good idea to take at least 2 cuttings from each plant in case one doesn't make it.
If the plants you have now are 1/2 way or a little less to the height you want to finish them at put them on 12/12 light cycle. They will double or triple the size they are now.
If you match the law of averages 1/2 of your plants, and of course 1/2 of your clones will be male.
Say you had 10 plants that would give you 20 clones. If five of the plants are male then 10 of the clones will be also. Get rid of the males. You would have 10 clones left all of which will be female. Now just clone the best of them. Hope this helps.

i only have one box to grow in, so do you think i should cut some clones and put them in the same box then start 12/12, or would it be better to start 12/12 and then clone them?

Weedychris,

How much vertical height do you have? I would flower now. (Depending on your max. vertical height)

CFL's light penetration is not as great as HID lighting. They will double to triple in height during flowering.

Clone if you want, but only if you have a place where you can give them 18/6 until they can root, then you can let them veg until you know the sex of the mothers and go from there. This MHO.

so can you not put your clones straight into 12/12? also, my vertical height is 2 and a half feet, so i agree, i think that i need to start flowering now, but im pretty sure that the smell will be a problem, thanks for the help
