What's your favorite grocery store and why?

yeah, they're hanging on by a very small sting no doubt.. there's one in my town, that's been there since i was a kid.. i think the only reason they're still open though is because it's the only real local grocery store a lot of older people have easy access to, as they pretty much blow and are way overpriced compared to a lot of other stores, and has probably the shittiest variety around..
yeah, so ok, i lied about liking acme, they blow, lol..

I like Whole Foods, Sprouts, Vintage Grocers, and Erewhon for specialty markets.

Ralphs Fresh Faire is pretty good as far as "regular" grocery stores...Pretty sure they're Albertsons owned.

HEB is the best grocery store (TX) next to Puritan in Florida I've ever been in. Safeway and Randall's and a few others are owned by the same peeps.

I used to work for WF running their catering program and teaching culinary classes in their cooking school. They're completely full of shit. But they take care of their employees.... Just not their guests. If you have a good butcher or fish monger you're better off than WF- they have decent product but way way overpriced and often mislabeled. They even know it. Lies!
