What’s your favorite way to ‘finish’ bubble hash?

Hi!

I just finished my first batch of bubble hash, and am left with all the crumbled pieces.

After watching tons of videos for a LONG time (yes, I was intimidated by the large amount of cannabis I had to use….) over & over; and reading through this forum (mostly) and some others about how to make bubble hash in the first place ….I took what I wanted from them & used what I thought was best.

So, now what to do. (I don’t seem to have as much as I had hoped, but will weigh it out when it’s dry. With ISO, i get 10:1 ratio.)
I don’t really know about leaving them separated into the different sizes, except maybe the 160/120 together (for edibles? I can’t make canna butter as I’m diabetic, and almost anything you make with it has flour in it ..I can use sugar substitute but nothing for flour…).. ad 73/25 for smoking?

One video, the guy took the dried hash & put it through a sieve, making it into grains; then, (he used cheap wax paper & should have used parchment paper..but, anyway) take it & fold in the parchment paper & roll a (wine) bottle filled with hot water over it to flatten it. It looked pretty good.

On others, they just left it like it came out of the bubble bags….Not sure about that. Seems a little loose…

*Oh, I have COPD, and will eventually make hash caps. will then leave in original condition & decarb & put into capsules…that seems pretty easy from what I read ..I sure hope.

Anyway< I’d love to hear your ideas!!

thanks!

The 45 and 73 mesh gives the best full melt. The 25 was garbage when I did it.
I don't have a 45. Went from 73 to 25.......the next higher was 120---not too good looking
Got the most from 73 & 25. ..

none of it was as much as I thought, but will weigh when dry. I only used 3 oz cannabis since it was my first try...just in case.

Thanks for your input, BTW

Use turkey bags or slow cooker bags instead of parchment paper. Do not use wax paper ever. Parchment will work but the turkey and slow cooker bags are better.

Also don't try to pour boiling water into the wine bottle. Instead fill the bottle to just past where the taper/belled part (just below the neck) starts. Then get a microwave safe bowl that it will fit in without spilling the water and (without the cork or lid on it) microwave it until it is boiling. Then cap or cork it after you remove it from the microwave.
Then press your bubble hash in-between the two layers of turkey bag material. Roll it until its thin enough to allow light through the edges. Then pull the pieces of bag apart. Then fold the hash back onto itself and repeat two more times. Then roll the hash into temple balls or cannolis (rest in peace Frenchy! )and age it for a while. I go around three months before I will open a temple ball up.
Also (since you have copd) take smaller hits if you decide to smoke it. If you decide to eat it then I would age it longer. The action of pressing it partially decarbs the trichomes, and time will do the rest.
Good luck friend!

Thank you for your help. You really went to some trouble & I appreciate it.

Yeah, if you're talking about making the bubble hash, I froze the cannabis, too; and, kept water cold as well. COLD is good for that!
I accidentally hit 'quote' on two posts, so here are both answers....as in, I goofed...who me??? :wall:. :p.

Just curious……my ‘bottle’, or glass rolling pin, has a top that leaks and is a pain in the a$$.
My husband just suggested using an iron, but I would have no idea what setting to use…… sounds like a good idea, however I don’t want to get it too hot.
Any idea?

The temp of boiling water or just under and use parchment paper. 212f or 200f is fine. if it sticks to the paper 20 sec in frezzer.

I would just tape the lid it only needs rolling for a few minutes.Easy to mess it up with an iron getting too hot.

Thanks. That’s what I told him. But, I didn’t want to shut down his suggestion too easily ;).

If you’re still there……do you sift yours through a screen like I saw in the video? It sure is difficult. I can’t get the last pieces to go through at all.

BTW, I really appreciate the help you‘ve given me on this!
