What's your gram per watt?

Average or just your last yield? What is your space and which light are you using? Any other details welcome of course.

I just purchased a 400w Vero29 kit (3000k) and I'm wondering what my ball park range will be. 5 plants in my 40"x40"x78" tent. I hear hitting 1 gpw is not that hard with LED but of course there are tons of factors. These pups are 8 weeks vegging and currently in the process of going into flowering.

Edit: Just a preemptive point, I know gpw isn't necessarily the best way to measure a grow but I'm still curious. If 400g is within my realm, well, that makes me a happy man.

I seem to be in the 1.3+ range with QB. I genuinely think I could hit 2 if I had all the time in the world and didn't mind running a full tent of just one strain. Last crop I was only checking once a week

Yours looks tidy, I'll bet you top 1gpw

1.5-2+ gpw is fairly common if you look around. I hit 1.7ish with 330w of autocobs by accident, 3 auto's in a 2.5'w x 5'd x 10"H closet. 2 auto amnesia in Coco hempys with added air(huge plants!). 1 auto cheese in super soil, she was topped and still gave me over 6oz. Didn't expect even half that weight. It was light's, genetics, medium and dumb luck. I have 2 auto's going right now that, judging by previous grows, will easily bust 1gpw. They may end up the size of the amnesia. I kinda hope not. lol

Judging by your grow, if things continue the way they are, you'll be happy.

Edit: It also looks like things are gonna get tight in your tent soon. :bigjoint:

Let's see here. 170 watts. 4 ounces. Average 2+ ounces per plant.

.68

4 COBs(mix of 3000K and 3500k), 2 gallon fabric pots, 2x4 tent and promix. Last grow was white widow. Next is Blue Berry.

Lol is this a joke? 4oz = 112g, 112/170 = .65

Edit: My bad, didn't see the "." in your post. I thought you did 170/4. bongsmilie

Nope. It's what the last crop measured. Using 4, 1212 chips. Driven at 36v. Two plants. Two estimated ounces each plant. Dried cured weight. The dry weight is a conservative figure. Probably about like 2.3 ounces on one. Closer to 3 on the other.

Why would you think it's a joke? I only grow for myself. I don't grow solely for bulk. All I need is about three ounces to last me to the end of the next grow.

between 1.3 and 1.5 (of the better buds) for 2x quantum boards in a 3x3 tent. Multi strain, no real canopy management, so a lot of buds that will only go to extract and not weighed.

What version Vero29 and what current? We can figure out your par wattage and you will have a better metric for min/max yield.

On my first grow with cobs I hit just over 1 gpw. My best has been 1.5 gpw. It's also strain dependent & grow style dependent. Im no expert grower so if I can hit 1 gpw you should be able to hit 400g for 400 watts. Unless you're a kacker ☺

The kit is listed as v7 with Bridgelux Vero29 V7 Type C COB LEDs. It doesn't specify a CRI on timber.

The website also lists the following:

Total Wattage Consumption (@ wall): 400
PAR watts: 195
PPF: 910

On those sinks at 1.4 amps they should be putting out around 188 PAR watts.

I think a high bar to shoot for in hydro is 3.5 GPPW. I don't know the exact ratio converting to soil but some have suggested 1.5 GPW in hydro and 1.25 in soil so going by that metric would be 2.9 GPPW as a high bar.

Hydro yield high estimate: 658g 1.64 GPW
Soil yield high estimate: 545g 1.36 GPW

That would be 73/60 g/sqft in a 3x3. Very possible but at some point the light intensity provides diminishing returns. The likelihood of hitting those numbers would be better with the same lamp used in a 4x4, but I think you could hit those numbers with healthy plants with decent yield potential and proper canopy/light management in a 3x3.

Low estimate: what mc130p said.

That is doable.
Having a lot of variables doesnt make it "not accurate". Grams/watt and grams/sq foot are both important metrics to anyone running a room 12/12 full time.
Not really.

More accurate would be grams per kilowatts hours used.
