When are they mature enough to flower?

Hello, this is my first grow [and post]and was wondering how you could tell when they were mature enough to start into 12/12. They are 32 days from seed with 4x45w cfls. I feed them foxfarm nutrients. The tallest one is 7" tall, is that an appropriate height for the age? Any info would be helpful, as I've been reading many threads on here in the last month and learned a lot! Thanks

You can flower anytime you would like depending on how tall you want them to be in the end, if you want to wait for maturity they will start alternating nodes and show preflowers.

I decide when to FLOWER based upon "available space"... You must remember that most plants will double, some even triple, in size when you flip to 12/12. This is referred to as the "stretch". Make sure you have enough vertical space to accommodate your ladies.
You can flip them to 12/12 whenever you like.

Well , then I better leave them to veg a couple more then anyway. At least until the nodes start alternating. The tallest one is only 7"+, and I have room for 5 or 6 footers.

height of the room is one consideration, the other is how much light you have. you dont want 5-6 footers if youre flowering with cfls unless you want to use a lot of bulbs.

150w won't be enough for 4-5 plants. Hell, I use a 400w for one plant and I don't think that's enough light.

Those look real good for a month old. Is that 8 plants? If so I'd want at least another 600 on them.

From what I understand, you need at least 50W HPS/sq ft.

I just finished a plant that was 4'3", multiple tops. It and another bushy plant, used a 600W HPS all by themselves.
I also have 8, 23W, 6000K CFL's for supplemental lighting. So really, it was 800W for 2 plants.

And like mr2shim said (even at 300W total), it's still not enought light (IMO)

Good luck
