When can you tell clones are gonna survive?

thought I did........ it will take 3-4 weeks unless you have a heating pad then about 2 weeks

Put them in something with a clear dome (seedling starter from walmart) I use 2 shop lights on 24/7 directly over the top of the dome from the day the starts are taken

You can normaly tell if your starts will live after the first couple of days.... if they wilt then you know....after a week they are still standing they will most likely root:peace:

Hey, would two daylight 6500K cool natural light, and two soft white, 8000 lumens be enough for budding??
They all are 13W equivalent of 60W

Ok i was supposed to post pics last night, but end up doin' some stuff, got caught up in it, and today after school i look at my babies and realize i didnt water them for over a day!!! One was totally dead, and the other one seemed to survive.... i ripped the cube of the dead one, and found VERY little root, almost none... what am i doing wrong???

When you start to see roots. Put them into a humidity dome, with a reptile warming pad underneath on the lowest setting. I usually put perlite in the tray to make sure the bottom retains a lot of moisture. Clones never survive? I have made easily 30 clones these past two weeks. I have had three that I threw out(due to the fact that they were behind) all the rest were sold. Are you using peat moss pucks ?

Clones never survive :eyesmoke: but growth is a good sign.
I took 8 clones off my last grow (rockwool) and they all died...then just as I put them into flower I took another 2 and tried the "water method" (its in the grow faq - basically leave them in water with a light above them)

One died and one lived - its still vegging now nearly 2 months after taking it, re-potted it the other day and there were THAT MANY ROOTS on it that it looked like I'd grown it from a seed!

Next time I'm adding superthrive to the water! It'll probably help get them to that point a lot sooner hopefully...if they survive - may try another 6 or 8 depending how I feel...

Youre too antsy. Chill the fuck out, lol.

If youre cloning without a heating pad, IT IS GOING TO TAKE TIME. Theres nothing you can do but wait, and make sure the conditions for the clone are the best you can provide. 100% humidity. Minimal light. (too much light and the plant wont root. If it can get all of its energy from photosynthesis, why would it need roots?). Its going to take at least two weeks. Dont touch them for that 2 weeks.

Heres what I do that works awesome for me. I use a 10 gallon fish tank with pebbles in the bottom about 3/4" deep. Then i add about 1/2" of water to the bottom of the tank, and place my clones in soil, and put the pots on top of the rocks. This allows the entire tank to stay humid from the sitting water, but the pots arent constantly sitting in the water, so it wont prevent root growth. This will also allow you to see when the plant has rooted, because there is water sitting below the pot in a humid environment, the roots will grow out of the bottom of the pot. Once they do, you can remove them from the tank, and transplant to a bigger pot. The aquarium effect also helps keep the soil warm, which speeds up rooting.

yes you can...what rooting hormone are you using???

Try dip-n-grow...I have 99% success rate using that http://www.dipngrow.com/

SOIL.... sunshine professional mix #4 http://www.sungro.com/products_displayProProduct.php?product_id=139&brand_id=3

this is a good start...trim those 2 bottom leaves off.....dip it in some dip and grow .....place it in a 6 inch plastic cup with pre moistened soil.... then place a sandwich baggy over top the start.... secure the baggy with a rubberband (homemade dome) ....place under a 40-80 watt shop light in a warm area 24/7 light

do you use a dome to help retain moisture and humity??

.....look at my starts...I dont use rock wool.... I use dirt....I get the seedling starters with the dome/clear lid...used for starting seeds from walmart

The dip-n-grow root hormone is a alcohol based concentrate....very good shit ....1 cap full to a shoot glass of water....cut it, dip it, plant it.
