When do buds fatten up?

Now there is recovery time to add in. This along with the fact they look like they are getting a bit to much Nitrogen, My guess would be you have 4-6 weeks left.
I've stopped giving them Gro all together so should not be the case. I use half tsp calimagic in 0ppm ro water, brings it around the 200ppm range. Then 1 tsp per gal of micro, 1 1/2 tsp per gal of bloom. 1 tsp per gal liquid koolbloom then 2ml per gal hydroguard. I am not using gro no more so nitrogen should not be an issue. If my ppm are above 700 I add 0 ppm ro water til it gets at 650ppm or below otherwise I get burn in my leaf tips.

I flipped them to 12 and 12 6 weeks ago today. I'm thinking I got about 4 weeks left, maybe longer on some strains that I got from a friend which are leaning to be sativas or sativa hybrids but some should be done in 4 weeks. But I'll check my trichs in 2 weeks starting and keep an eye on them til I decide its time.

Thank the voters and god
for Michigan medical marijuana :D I can't wait til my first crop. I just can't wait to see how it looks and smells and tastes and super excited about making my own wax with my sugar leaf trim and small lower buds. Yum. Wax is my favorite. I rarely smoke bud but can't wait to try that too. So excited for my first grow to see the outcome. Thanks to good friends who helped me along the way and most people on this site gives good advice. If I listened to some about ppm in the 1000s I'd probably hate them though, but other people on here taught me so much and helped me so much I'm thankful for this great site and the great people on it. This is the only forum I go to.

Everything is starting to smell really nice and starting to get bigger every day. Got a dehumidifier again so I should be good to go. 80 percent humidity for a few days but I resolved that problem. Back down to 60 percent already and I just started running it couple hours ago

I also got my jewelry Loupe in the mail today with led light. 30x or 60x. It's pretty cool looking at the trichs with it, looks gnarly

Newbie grower here, but first switching to 12/12 should not be considered your first week of flower. Unless they started sprouting pistils on the first day. You have some time yet to start bulking, make sure you are running the right nutes. I switched mine 12/12 on May 1st and it took about 10 days to spot a pistil. I figure I have until July 10th-13th at the earliest to harvest G13 Haze.

**Edit** I am basing this on seedbanks under cutting their flowering times, real world flowering times are more realistic when you subtract the time they were not showing hairs yet. You will hear both sides to this some say 12/12 some say when you first see hairs.
Not really true if you have a good grow and enough light they should finish by the time the breeder says the problem is the breeder is much better at growing. healthy plants finish faster

So I should probably say I'm going on week 5 instead of week 6 since the transition isn't counted as a week of flower? I never got any burn on my plants until I heavily defoliated fan leaves a week or so ago. That's when they started to burn a little. I have been dropping ppms if they rose past 650 ppm on the .500 scale. Some of them start burning above 700 ppm I found. So I just gotta be more patient. They are starting to fatten up slowly each day I notice. I'm just impatient I guess. There smelling amazing though.
I always count from the light switch growing indoor

Got my jewelers loupe in mail today. 30x and 60x with 2 lil led lights on it. Pretty cool looking at the trichomes. I see why you need one. You can't see that shit with your eyes. Looks so cool magnified though. Wow. Pretty neat. Now I'll know when to harvest because I'm looking for either all milky or amber when I harvest. Only cost me like 6.99 on Amazon and came with a case. Score

You look like you got it going on Nick!

Almost all strains really put on big weight the last couple of weeks tho Ive found it's more pronounced with sativa dominants. Indicas just seem to gradually fatten up to the end in my experience.

Your nute feeds sound really good. Don't want a lot of N after the stretch so I go Lucas Formula then and stop the Big Bud at the end of week 5 for 8 week strains. Stop almost everything by then and let them coast to the end on whatever nutes are in the pots. Just RO water from the end of week 6 with maybe some added sulfur to fatten up the trichs a bit. Same kind of strategy doing DWC as well.

Nice to be able to see those trichs up close eh. :) I recently got a USB scope that does 40-1000x. Has a little Wifi box to beam pics to the phone and I rigged it up to mount on my tripod as taking pics at 40X is hard enough by hand and impossible much higher than that. I wanted to be able to take pics of the plants in my grow room and not have to drag my desktop down there or drag the plants upstairs. :)

I'd say it's looking like a good harvest in your future. pass.gif

Extra darkness isn't going to do anything to bulk up the buds. They'll bulk up when they bulk up. Unless something goes wrong. Over fertilizing can stunt bud development. Lack of adequate light can affect it as well. Environmental factors contribute. There are many variables. You can't just say this week or that week. Some Sativa's go for 16 weeks. Some Indica's are ready in under eight.
You don't say what strains you're growing either. You can't go by the description from the breeder because they always claim they'll be done sooner than usual.
Yeah, even with a dozen 8 week strains, for example, you'll see some differences that can even be pretty big from one to the next. I had a pheno of Qrazy Train that looked like there was something wrong with it all through the middle of flowering but in the last couple of weeks the buds would explode.

I'm noticing some strains are going faster than the others. But one that had lots of white hairs is fattening up like crazy compared to the others and she seems behind the others for now but I'm sure she will catch up. Notice strains are all different. I'm doing like half Indica dominant and half saliva dominant.

I prefer Indicas to grow due to shorter and bushier. I have problems with short ceilings where I'm growing so indicas are a better choice for me. I'm loving Barney's farm. Trying allot of his strains before I go to a different bank.

I choose to grow from seed over cloning. I'd rather spend a little cash to always have new strains in my garden verses the same boring shit over and over. A big reason I jumped ship from my caregiver. Cuz they grow the same shit year after year. It's good but I developed a tolerance for his strains and it's not as good anymore. Gets old smoking the same old shit. I'd rather have a longer harvest time with seeds. Seeds can outgrow clones once they catch up anyways. Clones will outgrow a seed at first though

I've learned so much about hydro growing the past few years and now I'm finally getting to test my knowledge. Still learning of course but it's a fun hobby watching your plants grow up and raising them. There like my other kids. Lol. I had a couple buddies who have had nothing but problems with hydro and switched to soil and others who swear by it and rock it like me. I'm down with higher thc and faster veg growth, why I chose dwc over coco or soil. Plus I had a run previously with a buddy doing hydro so I learned some stuff then too

I'm with you on growing from seed. I grow multiple strains every grow. It's nice having a bunch of different strains on hand. Makes it hard to choose what to smoke but in a good way. I have about eight different strains in jars right now and am getting ready to harvest a few more before putting four more different strains into my flowering tent. I like having variety.

Yeah my caregiver only did like the same 3 or 4 strains every time. Lame and boring and gets old fast. Gotta be able to switch it

Plants are malleable as all get out. ♫♪♫ Bend them, shape them, any way you want them. ♫ Long as you love them, they'll be alright! ♫ ♪♪♫ :)
