yep cfls are great for veg you can spread your light all over the place and really get good growth and when you change to hps for flower your plant will do so so well with all of the extra lumens she will get

ok, it all depends on how much space you have/how tall you want your plant to be. Typically, youd veg your plants for about 5-6 weeks, some even do it for 4. Once you start your flowering process, then you bust out the HPS. youll see the difference in growth, and your buds will swell up - thats why everyone uses the HIDs for at least flowering. CFLs are great, and i would stand by them no matter what when talking about using them for a grow from start to finish, but the difference really is crazy when you bust out the big light.

You can use your CFLs n hang them around your plants for ambient light, n to make sure that the lights get every inch of the plants, but that HPS bulb would do awesome things for your girls on its own. How many watts??

HPS lights work just fine for veg, just keep the light cycle 18/6. Depending on the strain, you can move it to the HID light after about 6 weeks after being under the CFLs, or if growing has peaked under them.
