When do i harvest my plants?

i heard you have to harvest your plants when the long white things on your buds turn brown.
they turned brown ,the problem is they are still too small to harvest
what do you think i should do?20131022_203711.jpg20131022_203715.jpg20131022_203726.jpg20131022_203732.jpg

Those look close, but not quite done for my taste.
Get yourself a loup or hand held scope to look at the trich's. I like to harvest when I first start seeing Amber.
But no matter what your yield will be small if that's all you grew.

What type of lighting did you use ? CFL's ?

Read up in this sub-forum, there is a ton of info here.

Like Greatwhitwnorth said you need to check the trichs. If they've been flowering for at least 9 weeks it's more than likely their done. You have small buds because you didn't have enough light. More light, more knowledge = more and bigger buds.

2 weeks more, also it's seems to be like a bit under fertilised, that's why u didn't get bigger buds, good luck.

The long white things you are looking at are called stigma or more colloquially, "hairs".

When they all (or the vast majority) turn orange/brown and recede and the calyxes swell, you are getting close.

You might be confusing trichomes with stigma. The trichomes are the "crystals" (hate that term) on the flowers and small bud leaves. I wouldnt worry about them right now. There is little use in looking at trichomes unless your plant is visibly mature and I dont think yours is just yet.

The stigma in your picture look like they are in between young, white and erect and mature, browned and dried/receded. The calyxes do not look fully swollen and the buds dont look robust and full enough yet.
I would wait another 2 weeks. They will fill out substantially in the last few weeks of flowering.

The bud in the picture is not one you want to base any harvest decisions on. What do the main tops look like?

this is my first grown & i even lost the count of how much mistakes i made
but anyways next time im coming straight to this forum instead of asking people

You did good. If you get anything at all, you did good. I make a lot of mistakes too. It's a tough way to learn stuff but the lessons stick with you. Read, read, read. You'll find plenty of people here to help you. G/L!

what I did for my 1st grow was to keep a thorough journal in a note pad as well as online (see link in sig). this helped me keep track of what I did and what date and any issues that came about. my 2nd grow I got lazy and only kept track on a calendar (watering schedules, ect). this helps in case you have any wtf moments, and allows you to go back and read up on what you did and what could have went wrong. this also keep tracks of your growth rates and cloning/vegging/flipping/flowering times.

hey heres a thread I posted about a satisfactory DIY scope for viewing trichomes, best part is it cost me like 99 cents for the laser pointer.. its not the best but it sure gets the job done anyway. it would be a lot more efficient to buy one but I figured theres gotta be other people out there that are too stoned or lazy to go out and buy a scope so I mcgyverd this shit up in minutes https://www.rollitup.org/harvesting-curing/743554-cheap-easy-scope-see-trichrome.html - BuddyKronik
