When do I start to feed clones (different stages)?

Hey RIU I am about to clone from a plant that is 3 weeks into flower (like after the bud sites started) so few things, do they need a feeding quickly of vegetative nutes, or can I use water to clone like I normally do then start feeding? I have never cut from a flowering plant (this far in) and am wondering should I be giving ALL my clones light nutrient feedings? How long will it usually take the cutting after rooting to reveg?

Thanks!

Taking cuttings when you are 3 weeks in flowering is pretty much a waste of time. Once the donor plant has started to flower it takes many weeks for her clones to root. You are much better off by letting her continue to flower for the 3-5 weeks she has to finish. Then, when harvesting you do so that you can do an easy re-grow. That means leave a double handful of greenery down around the base of the plant. Cut her back so she is less than 50% of her harvest height. Put her back to veg using water only the first week. After about 3 weeks re-vegging you can take all the clones off her you want. This way you get a harvest as early as possible and your clones will be ahead of where they would be with your plan. Good luck, BigSteve.

Thanks Guys, for the Q and A

I have a second part if that is OK ?

From my understanding ... this is a method to keep a mother to get clones !/?
Will this plant continue to grow as "normal" if one was to go through the proper stages (18/5 and 12/12) ? Will it re-flower and produce budz or will it be only good for clones ?

Thanks

I've cloned plants in the bud room...3 weeks+ in... They did not take any longer to root, than my regular clones...
The thing is, as it re-vegg's it has really weird growth...
May take 3-4 weeks for it to turn around and re-grow...in veg...
Worth a try for sure...
Good Luck!

Take a cutting. You can always reveg after you harvest and you'll have the cut going as well. Then you can find out which is more efficient/practical.

I use tap water with all cuttings until they root. Not much use for nutrients without roots.
