when do plants go into bloom outdoors?

Hi. I have an idoor grow room that has plants in bloom right now. I have the next generation growing on my deck. The plants on my deck are probably only 8" tall so far. My problem is this: The days here in Minnesota are getting shorter and shorter. Tomorrow, sept 5th, I will only have 13 hours and 3 minutes, plus a half hour or so of dawn and dusk. I'd like to have my plants at least a few inches taller when they start to bloom. I know the fall equinox is the 23rd, but I'm sure the plants don't exactly follow that. How much longer do I have?

they will start budding anyday now.... they may take a lil longer if there sativas.... if there only 8 inches tall then that tells me they started ultra late.... they should be budding already mine have been for over 2 weeks... they may veg for a few days but they will bloom. dont know if they will finish in ur area may have to bring them inside if thats an option

well, I started the cloning process a while ago, but only got them transplanted a week ago.. 2 weeks ago? Not long ago. They are aurora indicas. They will be coming indoors to my indoor grow room as soon as I have the space (2 -3 weeks). They are clones, so they already had preflowers. As for the big budding flowers, I have no signs of them yet. I know as soon as I see them the plants have another 6 weeks to go. What is the bare minimum amount of light needed to keep them from flowering? The sun here rises just before 7... my grow light turns on at 6. I could move them into my grow room every day for an extra hour... that would give me 14 hours.

daylight here is 13 hours... I can only give them an extra hour every morning... so thats 14. Even doing that, in another week, we'll lose almost a half hour of daylight and they'll be back at 13.5 hours... but I think all they need is another week or so before I'd be comfortable sending them into bloom. Alright... I have a plan. Thank you.

so I have my plan, but I'm still curious... what is the bare amount of light needed to keep a girl vegging?

I would increase the time under the flouros as time goes on as well. The days will be getting shorter, so you don't want the plants to sense the light decreasing. Add about 20-30 minutes of extra artificial light each week and you should be good.

if u want u could stick them out now to flower them, plants in my area have been flowering, more or less for about a month now, if u want them to keep vegging 15 hrs is a safe bet, bc my outdoor plants started flowering at 14 hrs
