This is my first outdoorgrow(not first grow tho), I live in ny and am wondering when plants start to flower in northeast US, thanks for the help

The summer equinox was on the 21st of June so they should start wanting to flower in the next few weeks. As soon as they detect the decease in daylight time they start to flower........they are very smart weeds.

yea, check your daytime hours, if you have less then 12 hours of sunlight per day then the plant will start flowering

it actually doesn't take less than 12 hours to initiate flowering, it's just a decrease in daylight that does it.

yeah, I shake my head whenever I see answers like that. In the northeast it becomes 12/12 in mid September at the earliest. The first frost is around mid October, how would any plants ever finish in time if it started right at 12/12. Think about even higher latitudes like canada that have even earlier frost times.

around the end of July/ first of August. if they start in the fall.... you're pretty much fucked as they'll never finish. mine are showing sign now.
