So after harvest the slower the dry jprocess the better results?? What if i leave plant whole and hang for a week or till jarable.. i plan to trim very well as it is personal smoke.. will the drying whole before trimming make it taste/smell like hay???

Thanks in advance guys and gals

Too quick of a dry will make it taste like hay. Leaves can be left on until the plant is dried but it is quite a bit more difficult to trim after the fact.

Cool thankyou. The plants have very few leaves in the buds them self so i figured an hour trimming per plant when dried wouldnt be bad if the end result will be smoother and more taste

i hung a whole plant up last year and the leaves trapped moisture in certain areas resulting in mold, however i trimmed before drying, with the others and was combated with the hay smell, so this year ill do a rough trim removing the big fan leaves and what not while leaving most of the sugar leaves on, while drying. gonna have to see how it works.

Yes my fear is mold more than hay smell i think... but i do hate them both.. i figure keep fans running..humidity at 50-55.. temps 70-75f...my plants have very few fan leaves remaining.. most have fallen off. And the buds are like just stacks of caylexes with a random sugar leaf here and there.. so i was hopefully going to slow drying as much as possible

If you have the temps and humidity where they need to be you will have no issues, trimmed or not. Fans are a good idea to keep the air circulating, just not pointed directly at the buds. Good Luck!

I would trim before drying. Unless you live in a really dry place like Arizona or Cali (Cali is dry compared to where I dwell haha)

I think I am going to have the hay problem. The buds are in the jars curing right now so I won't know for about another week. If I do have the hay smell its ok, its for personal use and I have juicy drops to make it taste good (strawberries!!!)
