When/How Often Should I Top My Plants?

I am planning to flower my plants when they have 4 nodes and are about 6-8 inches tall. When should I start topping them (during veg or flower) and how often?

You should top them about 1-2 weeks before Flowering, they need all the energy they can get before 12/12.

Should I do this just once or..?

Yeah most people only do it once, I did hear of someone doing it twice but I don't know if that gives it to much stress. So I would only do it once just to be safe. That's just me tho.

You cut the very top of your plant off, the plant then puts its effort into growing the next 2 lower branches. result is a shorter but wider plant. saves space and maybe even increase yields. thats my simpleton explanation.

people say you can top up to 4 times, doubt thats a good idea, better sticking about twice.
