when is it 2 late 2 clone??

i have a plant that his been n flower 4 6 days. 2 days after showing sex. is this an ideal time 2 clone? i would like to clone a few bottom branches to give them a better chance. i will be continuing to flower the mother until the end.

if the time isn't good now, when is the ideal time?

Ideally you want to clone while the plant is in vegetative stage ..... but if you don't know if it's a girl and don't get pre-flowers then you have to wait until flower. Obviously the sooner, the better, but I've read that you should be able to take a few clones without stressing the plant up to about the 3rd week of flowering.

if that is true it sounds like its a perfect time. I had no idea what the plant was when it veggin.

i would like 2 clone for 2 reasons..

- i would like to attempt cloning and succeed.

-i think it is a good use of the bottom branches. that thing is like a bush and i know that stops a lot light.

As far as i have read it's not stressing the mother plant but rather having to force the clone back to veg stage and also trying to make roots at the same time. If you can get good at finding the preflowers then you will not be putting the plant into flowering before you will be taking the clones. Get one good mother plant and you can get lots and lots of cuttings off of it. The oldest mother plant have seen (on the web) was 7 years old. That's a lot of cuttings.

i'm sure thats was a huge plant too. yeah, the preflower thing is right on though. now that i thnk im spotting them now. i just took a step up. plus i hear you will weaken the potiency by flowering and then veggeing back to flowering. not sure though.

I took forty clones once from plants that had been in flowering for about 8 weeks, and reverting them back to veg then took longer than I could have done with new seeds. At six days you will be fine. You really don't have to wait to take clones until you know sex. If you take clones and that plant turns out male what have you lost?? the price of a small rockwool block, and you practiced your cloning skills? I took clones off male plants just to practice. If you look at my room now you can see the results. VV
