when it comes to flowering what other lights can i use to increase yield?

Thanks kershivo (+rep), I was up in the 90's but when I added my 6" fan, temps dropped to high 70's low 80's real quick so now I'm thinking that I might as well add more juice :D

My favorite strain is Jack Herer and I have 2 going right now, I want to give them everything I can afford so I can enjoy them later
 
I'm growing for my wife and I, we are both prop 215 patients in California. Luckily Jack Herer is both our favorite strain so when I spend the extra money we don't have, she doesn't complain :D

EDIT: I just threw in that extra 200w CFL I had that I was going to use for vegging later, I hope the temps hold up

Why do you want to add more light? 200w of CFL will generate too much heat. What is the air temp at your intake?

Well I added a 200w CFL (over an hour ago) and the temperature went up to 88 degrees with 37% humidity, that's up from 82 degree's and down from 42% humidity. Is more light bad?

Thats about what i would have expected, i don't think the extra light will make up for the added heat. If it is 88 now you know it will go to 90+

They stayed at 88, I removed it anyway, it was taking up to much space. I added a few small cfl's and the tent has been around 84-86 all day.

Eh, CFL lights don't put out all that much either though.


I'm running dual 150's. Simple yet effective setup. I think the lumens, total amount combined from both units is like 32k or 36k. Which is perfect for me.. as I never have more than three plants going.. when I grow. I grow for my personal usage and enjoyment only.

I also got two 125watt CFL bulbs. I don't really count in the lumens the plants get from these.. but i think its right around 12k combined.. maybe a little more. But they work great for side lighting.

My temps are around 80-85`F when running the conversion bulbs (mh spectrum bulbs); during flowering, temps stay steady between 73`F-78`F. Humidity stays right between 40%-55%.. which is acceptable. Wish I could get them lower than that.. especially during flowering. I'd like to have around 25-35% humidity when I flower my babies..

maybe some day I can achieve that. ;) back to the drawing boards.

First thing tak the carbon filter off and try again. Also place your thermometer (outside the tent) where the air is being pulled into the tent and post a picture.

I want to see something like this:
 
ok i have put the temperature monitor next to where my intake is on the outside of the tent. I'll give you a reading of that soon.

I have taken off the carbon filter too. When i put my hand to the end of the ducting it is pumping out the heat, I can feel it.

think I may have to change my lights to off between 12pm and 6pm again? What do you think?

I have them off between 12am and 6am at the moment.

I kinda made a home made intake fan by placing ducting into the intake hole and placing a fan directly on to the ducting. Not sure if its doing anything though. Think I may have to purchase a proper intake fan.
 
forecast says for the daytime maximum of 20c and at night time a minimum of 13c.

The window is always open in there and the window is open on the landing. Plus I have a fan on in there the majority of the time.
 
looks like like you could do with a bigger fan or buy a ac unit, or you could use co2!!! the tents are a good idea but hard to controll the temps, i had problem after problem

What are the temps after you removed the filter? I think the fan may not be preforming up to par (esp with your long duct).

My reccomendation is another inline exahust fan or replace your current one with one more powerful.
 
right moneys tight so i dont think i can afford a fan although that would be my first option.

i know the ducting is a problem so i think i have 2 options.

1. move the tent next to the window? the reason it is not there now is incase someone walks past and the door is accidently open, they would see it instantly.

2. duct directly upwards into the attic?

what would be the best?
