When should I begin flowering?

SO I am about 5 weeks into vegging on a small grow. I am growing in a long tote box on its side so its taller. Its about 2.5 feet tall and my plants from the bottom of the pot to the top of the new leaves are about 11 inches tall. I know that the plant will grow in flowering so I am not sure when I should begin. I also have to account for my light setup which takes about 5 inches away itself.

I will try to post pictures but I am a re-re when it comes to that sort of thing.

Any feedback would be appreciated. I will plus rep or give a bj, whatever you like baby!kiss-ass

You can flower whenever you want to. just switch your light schedule to 12/12 and you will start to see sex characteristics in your plant.

I have only 3 plants. I just checked and they were only about 8 inches. I have 2 100w soft white cfls and 2 long flourescent grow lights on the side. Those are only about 20 w each.

I read somewhere between 12" and 18" to start flowering, but like the other guy said, you can do it any time. Some growers (i've read) start flowering just after seed. I'm on my first grow with multiple strains, and I was at 5 weeks with about 12" - 18" and started flowering then, but, of course my tallest ended up being male :(

expect ur plant to triple in size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if u start having issues u can low stress train with string, this involves bending and tying down branches, it sounds a bit tricky but it is actualy very easy and lots of fun, good luck,
