When should i count the weeks of flower.

It starts when your plants are beginning to produce buds not when you switch the lights. If it takes 2 weeks to start budding on a 9 week strain, you will be at 12/12 for 11 weeks.

Nice i was looking for a thread like this , i switched mines a week a go and i dont see shit(newb eye). I vegged them for 5-6 weeks and was gettin a lil worried( my 1st grow). I was thinking my bulb was trash or light leak , something. But now i'll what another week beofre i hit the panic button. Thanks all!

I have yet to see a strain finish in the catalog time if I start counting from the day I switch to 12/12.
If it's not flowering (and preflowers don't count) flowering hasn't started.

He basically said it all. There is nothing 'carved in stone' when it comes to breeders flowering times vs actual flowering time in ones particular garden. So many variables involved.

i've read the responses from several seed breeders over the years, and all have said that they start counting from when they show sex. the number of days that they state for flowering is an average of when THEY would cut them. what i've found over the years is that using their number of days for flowering is about 10 days or more away from where i like to cut them (mostly cloudy trichs).
