hello RIU community,

I'm a new grower so please have pacients :P.

I'm currently growing a White Widow (Feminised). I planted the seed on the 11th of September so it's 43 days old, she's growing in a 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m grow tent with 600w MH lighting. I have topped her multiple times and I think most of her looks pretty good. I'm also not sure when I should flip this one either, so if any one could give me any helpful input it's really appreciated!! :)
Here are some photos, not the best shots bit hard to see but best I can do. What do you think of her, how's she look?

All comments, opinions and tips very much appreciated thanks all :D!

Looks pretty damn good for a first try. Or even a twentieth try. I would say veg for another three weeks. The container doesnt look very big or id say veg for another five weeks. Keep up the training and dont stop topping and you can have a killer haul. Especially if you transplant into a bigger container ;) You want the plant to fill the footprint of the light. Four plants would get you there faster than one. Ya know what im sayin?

I'd keep it as a mother and take some cuttings and immediately flower the cuttings (via hydro) once they get some roots. More research I know but that's what I'd do.
Good advice,
The idea of a 45 day veg makes alot of small buds down under and an 18hr cycle 1000w cost $$$ per day.
flip at 8-12" after 10 or so days, saves 35 days 18hr...gives you weed to smoke 35 days sooner.
And the buds reach the light

You dont really lst and train mothers though. And im thinkin he only has one light since hes on his first grow.
True but man keeping that thing around so long and as fandango said on the small buds. If he picked up a cheap light to keep the mom alive and stop the the training, use the 600 for the clones he'd probably get way more out of it especially if he went hydro.

that mother is worth tons of bud in the future, she only needs cfl light and a corner some where.
Hydro is a bud machine, flood and drain set up.
Keep in mind folks, the faster the plant flowers the less likely the bugs will get to her.
Also, bugs do not like hydro as much as soil.

That's what I was thinking, he could get way more out of it and it's old enough to flower once it gets a few roots.
I did a tiny clone experiment in Jan using about 3 inches of plant matter, the one on the left is hydro,. He could probably do 15 or twenty with ease right now.

Oh i know that hydro kills yields but its the guys first grow. You guys are talking cloning, running an ebb n flow table, phing, twenty plants, new gear, more lights, cloning solution, and learning a whole new setup before hes even attempted to cure his first bud. If he grows it out and runs the 600 itll cost him like 20 bucks a month, X say 5 months. 100$ and hell net probably a lb. so really it wont cost him all that much right. Itll pay for the equipment plus more, and he doesnt have to worry about spending another fortune or one of the many new experiments your suggesting failing. Just sayin...you mad scientists

And if he cant pull it off (cloning) or doesnt have the extra 500 bucks right now to build the system, hes peckered

Yessir, i made it up. Now its real. It may he in the redneck dictionary. Good to see ya bak ;)
Thanks bro.
I haven't had much to write about, and really never came back after the whole 'redoing' thing, but just started a thread about the beans I ordered from Nirvana. https://www.rollitup.org/t/nirvana.888049/
Glad to see you're still around!
BTW, I think MY latest madeup word (at least I haven't heard it before) is better.........
Don't even remember what I was watching the other night, but they said something ending in 'lets', and the first thing that popped into mind was "titlets", maybe because I had just been watching "2 Broke Girls", and Max is always razzing Caroline about hers.

LOL, I had forgotten how much fun this joint (no pun intended) can be at times.
Isn't church only bad if you're the priest??:o
Reminds me of Ron White when everybody got pissed at him for peeing in the river, but I guess being in a canoe, standing up:clap::clap::clap::clap: DOES have some bearing on people's perception of the act.
Here;s another thread that went far........ Quite a bit of time between my last input and a follow up. HHAHHAHA https://www.rollitup.org/t/very-slow-growth-help-please.765358/#post-11971181

Wow thanks for all the feedback guys I really appreciate it! :) I'm actually thinking of just letting this one grow out, instead of turning her in to a mother plant for the fact that I don't have the room/another tent.

I will be continuing to train and top her, I will post photos regularly for anyone that is interested in this grow and that can help me along the way if need be.

Thanks again to every one that has commented their ideas and advice!! :D

Hello everyone,

Today I have transplanted my white widow into a larger pot. Unfortunately it didn't go as smooth as I wanted, I know I managed to damage some roots.. (Absolute amateur:wall:) I'm just hoping she recovers okay, just gave her a big water and I'll leave her to do her thing. Could anyone have a rough guess on how long she will be in shock for, considering not the best transplant ? Here are a few photos of her in the new pot. The new pot is 36cm Base Dia x 33cm height which is 42L. What do you guys think I know it's hard to say because you guys won't here when I transplanted but yeah give me your thoughts.

Thanks once again RIU community, all ideas, advice and tips are very much appreciated! Cheers :D

I wouldn't be too concerned about shock.
When I T/P, I actually cut an "X" across the bottom of the rootball and open it up over a cone of soil in the middle of new pot when I drop it in, and they aren't even phased by it.
Good job on keeping good lighting! I can tell because you're not showing any stretching.:hump:
