Compare rural population in the '30's vs. rural population today and it will help support that view.

Thing is, I myself am on the cusp of being culled if elec. goes away (via EMP or Carrington Event, don't matter).

Priority is (oxygen,) water, food, sleep.
If electricity goes, ain't none of us gonna like it as all those things become incredibly scarce.
