hey Rui i was wondering what would happen if i put 3 of my plants into flower there about as high as a water bottle. would i get a bad yield?
when to flower plants?

I waited just a week before flipping to 12/12
The clones had to stay in the cloner tray for an extra week,
so you might consider it to have been two weeks.
...but the results are strong so far:
(I was indicating where I thought to trim this plant in another thread)
So, what you propose should be very doable.

J-Dog - now that you can see how scrawny that sativa is, you will know to top or FIM that variety before
growing it out again, eh? No offense, but your yield would be close to double if you had done a good FIM
job at about 3 weeks in dirt. That type of tall-skinny phenotype would yield much better with 3 or 4 main colas
rather than the one.
Also, you have wasted a week or 2 by using more pot than that little plant needs. Looks like a 3-gallon pot...?
You could have the same plant maybe 10 days earlier by using a smaller final pot. Your plant spent weeks sending out roots to fill the pot
when she doesn't need nearly that much support.

Well Bigsteve, no offense taken. I appreciate your taking the time.
I am looking to get lollipops, so topping was not an option.
I do have 24 of these in my tent, along with 6 Somangos, and
the two mothers as well.
Funny, but when I first posted that photo, it was to, in part, point
out how the growth was suiting my expectations. There is a lot of
good growth along the main stem....and now, at 20 days, the top
6-8" of the plants is already looking to coalesce into one bud.
This is only my second serious grow, so no surprise if I screw it up. :0)

either more room between plants, or more plants, but I am pleased so far.

LoL it's in the grow bible, first new moon. There is a ceremony, and those prayers you have to say. Of course this must be done precisely at 3:49am. Or it won't take...
i agree with Harley, there better plants with a longer veg time.

EDIT: when the old dog barks at the new moon!
longer veg=bigger stems = bigger yields... you might get a half oz. if your lucky with your little plant

reference at this point. (with the mothers that would come to a pound or so)
I am doing this for my own use and experience (and some very happy friends)
so I do not need to set records.
I really do appreciate the time though gang. No better way to learn.

seems to me the lower branches and bud sites (in the photo of the one plant) will be shaded out once the stretch is on and you'll get no more than maybe a few grams of fluffy little popcorn down there. If you decide to trim the littlest nugs they'll look like nuthin once they're dry. I thin the bottoms up to where there is decent light penetration and lumens to create trimworthy buds. Don't worry about loosing yield, the big tops will be bigger and easier to trim.

The arrow is pointing at the first branch that I would keep.
I am still up in the air on this though.
I also wonder if I should let the stretch finish before I act.

Looks about right. cuts would make nice clones if they aren't too far into flower. also works to remove all the bud sites along the interior of low side branches except the very toppest to just let them form one bud (if they're already flowering and not gonna be clones and as long as the top is getting light).

You can flower from seed and get a zip... in hydro at least prob soil too. They are sexually mature when the leaf nodes start alternating and they show preflowers.

look at them! is there a node on both sides of the stem (simetrical) is there a node on one side then up a little bit and there is a node on the other side(alternating)
