When to introduce light during germination/seedling stage?

Seeds soaked in a cup of water for 12-16 hours then put between moist paper towels and placed inside a humidity tray on top of a heating mat for another 12-16 hours Root tips emerging, seeds placed in rockwool cubes.

1. When should I take the humidity tray top off?

2. When do I introduce light? From my understanding the plant is going to reach upwards in search of light because the root has emerged and it is in rockwool.

Thanks, some people are very specific and so many grow guides are so not specific at all.

Humidity isn't good for seedlings. It's good for clones. What a seed needs is water and darkness. Once the seedling pops its head out the lights should be on

Thank you for enlightening me on this matter. Humidity needs to be decreased once the root tip emerges from a seed. Gotcha.

I personally just throw my seeds into soil. I don't soak them or paper towel them. When I do put them in soil I leave the light on for even they do pop. The important thing that new growers don't have is patience. Good luck human

And I can't say for sure but it makes sense to me that a seed in soil has plenty of humidity in the soil. The heating mat you have helps

I have to disagree with your comment that "humidity isnt good for seedlings" I just had 18 out of 18 seeds sprout because i water soil after planting seeds and then wrap in plastic wrap. Keeps he soil moist until sprout breaks surface. Then remove plastic. The last thing you want is soil to not be wet enough. I agree with the lights tho non needed until showing above ground.

I would like to say that i learned that technique from one of the very experienced soil growers on this site roughly a year ago. Works with no problems everytime!

I've seen it done that way too. I guess either way works right. I know seedlings need that high humidity
