When to nute?

So I transplanted my gals from MG soil to FFOF this passed Saturday. The plants were in 1 gallon pots and the roots filled the entire pot so almost all of the MG soil is still on the roots. They are now in 3 gallon pots and they are 24 days old. When should I start adding my FF nutes? I feel since 98% of the roots are still in the MG soil, that I should still wait to add nutes until I start flowering. Any opinions?

before you start adding nutes , you want to check the ph of your soil / water..

I have yet to do any PH testing. Since I only plan on growing like 4-6 plants per year, I really don't want to buy a ph meter. Do you think I could do it with just the ph strips? If so any clue if they sell them anywhere besides a hydro shop?

I think you can get them at a drug store

why would a drug store sell ph tester. what are people going to ph test, their pee?

you can get a ph test strips at pool store, pet store, walmart fish/pet section, etc.. they are only a couple bucks and they do work, except it'll just give you an idea what the ph is. so if the strip color shows 6, that's all you know.. could be 6.9 (which is closer to 7)..

I tried this. It seems to be good enough for a newbie not wanting to spend a whole lot getting started. It was like $20 at a local hydro or $17ish online. Has the ph test drops a syringe/plunger type thing kind of like a small turkey baster lol and a small amount of both ph up and down. It measure 4-8 in .5 increments so not the most accurate but it works for me.
